I’ll be cosplaying casual Leo (fire emblem), Gappy (jojolion), and Crow (persona5). Might also bring Akechi’s normal outfit or his DAN outfit to change into Saturday night just haven’t made up my mind yet.

Only have a couple of small things left to do for my cosplays and make a small prop, so it’s a relief not having a big con crunch this year.

Considering Otakuthon is set in Quebec, most Canadians won't really give a shit. They'll think right away the Convention will be worse than what they've been to because they expect it to be in French alone. You can't expect that many seagulls either because of that

I'm actually surprised at the ratio of French and English panels and events. In Anime North, you either had lgbt or q&a with the barely existing panels worth going to, while in Otakuthon you had to choose which panels you felt like going most between all of them every hours. I had fun from start to finish compared to Anime North, and I'm gladly going back this year because of that

It’s not actually better. The good parts of otakuthon is that the area is in the middle of the city and sometimes the guests are good.

Otherwise it’s like trash. The convention center itself is meh, the dealers room is just the same old ppl from every con around, the panels are shit, the french ones are obviously an issue too for everyone else. The hotel space is ridiculous when it’s on the same weekend as other stuff, and while you can find smaller stuff or student housing to use, it’s pathetic. Also you guys seem to lack AC.

This year alone the con seems to be in the shitter with the lack of organization, it sounds like panels weren’t denied/allowed until the last minute for a lot of people. Same with fashion show stuff? Also the con hates jfash.

Truth is, I've seen delays like that and small fuck ups every year and the con is still going strong. I don't think the retardation at the top is finally catching up because the people at the bottom are too hardworking and like the con too much to willingly let the con turn to shit.

Just want to say Fhana concert really made the con well worth it, many times over. Only disappointment was that they did not sing Wonder Stella, but the encore of CHU CHU YEAH really dialed the concert rating to 11/10. If they get just as great a concert guest as this one, it's really worth considering to come back to Otakuthon next year.

I can see the argument for western movies/tv shows like supernatural, stranger things, friday the 13th, etc. But video games fall in line with anime, especially ones that have anime inspired motifs like overwatch/league. I regret not travelling on Thursday instead of Friday and missing the Friday morning and afternoon events.

Here's an unrealistic expectation: I'd like to see Mizuki Nana or Tamura Yukari as concert guest. That said, they've never been to north america as far as I know, probably because they're too expensive, even for AX. If Otakuthon could pull it off though, I'd probably have a heart attack on the spot.
