Is it weird to not be interested in doing intricate coords? I love admiring them, but unless it's for a very special occasion, I like to keep accessories fairly basic and not too flashy. I feel like over-accessorised became the standard for a while.

Sometimes less really is more imo. Toned down (compared to OTT) seems far more wearable, it's still lolita but more suited to be worn daily.

I don't wear pastel sweet, and I find recommendations are usually for brands like Qpot. I've been looking for silver pieces to go with more gothic leaning coords, but so much of what I've found has been tacky looking, low quality mallgoth shit. It's annoying because I don't mind shelling out for nicer stuff, but I don't know where to look since I'm otherwise not into jewelery when it comes to normie outfits. Where do you guys go for well-made pieces?

I really don't like it. Maybe it looks better irl but the print is garish and hideous, the black cuffs and belt with the white collar look mismatched and strange, and the fact they reused the pattern of pic related (which is super popular so, understandable) to make this makes this so much worse. I'd be fine if they gave us pic related in new colors that weren't so hideous.
I do like the fact the collar is removable, admittedly that's pretty cool.

Honestly, if your concern is lolitas looking down on her when they see her on the street, you're not taking the print into account at all. Without the elements that point to it being a replica (wonky details etc.), and depending how good or bad the fabric is, they might think she's cut up a brand dress to make a normie dress and will be even more appalled. And even if they don't, they'll obviously recognize a brand print on a garment on which it doesn't belong so she'll be judged anyway.

Same here. Even though it's AP and was always going to have some sweet elements, I'm just not really that impressed by the closer shots of the print. I often get annoyed with AP always using the same patterns for their dresses so it's nice to see them trying some different cuts, but these just don't really speak to me.

Surprisingly, my phone is very responsive through the plastic. I can still access side buttons on my phone but does take a little effort. It can be tricky to have the plastic sit flat up against the phone screen at times if you have a separate case on it, but I'd remove it before inserting it into the bag. Also, if your phone is around 5 inches, there's some extra space so it slides a little when in use. I'd imagine it being perfect for phones that are bigger than 6 inches. The plush is quite stuffed (plush) too, so it does require both hands to use due to it's size.

Not weird at all. I keep the OTT for meets, and wear simple outfits casually at home and living my life. If you post daily outfits on CoF some will like and others will say it's boring. Honestly, I kinda get it. You appear between tons of OTT photo's, so contrast is more stark. Put a daily coord next to normies (where you normally wear it), and you'll look like the OTT one.

Unless you're an e-fame whore, there is nothing wrong with less intricate, daily wearable coords.

I generally get stuff from: Alchemy Gothic, actual jewelries, Et Nox, and iSatanist. Alchemy Gothic can decolour sometimes, rest has at least options for stainless steel or precious metals.

With goth brands you need to be careful. Many goth stores also sell cheap crap nowadays. Normie stores are the same, many have cheap crap too. But for both count, if you can see it in person or are willing to take the risk, they can have nice stuff.

TaoBao T-Mall has some good jewelers too. But not much cheaper than stores here. Just more options.

I'd believe it's all AP -- that selfie closeup shows some really nice details that makes my heart sing, especially the detailing and the fabric on the green dress, but goddamn that underpoofed skirt along with that funky hemline on the same green dress is just so much, imma cry. And Misako's dress straight up looks like an abuse of chiffon, but it seems to be the same problem with the Halloween dress upthread, it's beautiful but for the love of everything why put such a detailed, solid print on chiffon if you're not taking advantage of using sheer chiffon for a floaty, dreamy look? So I'm not sure where I should ask this but I don't really think it belongs in the stupid questions thread so I'll ask here.

I'm a lonelita and I really only have one other lolita friend. She can't just drop everything and come to a con with me that's far away, but on occasion I do travel wherever in the country to see a certain guest. The thing is, it's a pain in the ass to go to a con by myself now that I'm in poor health. Certain events like concerts I can't have my bag in, I carry around a lot of shit, I'm not in good health so sometimes instead of walking far for food or whatever I'd like to have someone with me to do it instead.

In theory, would I be a bitch to try and find a lolita who would be a temporary personal assistant to me at cons? My health is declining pretty rapidly and I still want to go to cons but it makes it more difficult to do by myself. I was thinking of either offering free lodgings and food or pay them an hourly rate if they'd prefer. Obviously I'd cover the cost of the badge on top of it. I was thinking of asking here and seeing if anyone would be interested in being my con assistant and holding like "interviews" or whatever. I really have no idea how to go about this I just want a frilly assistant and would rather not hire a normie because I don't think they'd get con culture and it'd be difficult to talk to them about lolita stuff at cons.

tldr: sick lolita wants to hire a lolita assistant for cons. is this dumb or should I give up on my dreams and hire a normie personal assistant for the cons

Can you post this on the event page for a con? I'm sure some people there could offer extra assistance even after you get your normie assistant or lolita assistant. Maybe call the hotel ahead of time as well and see if there's anything they can do to help your stay go more smoothly.

Realistically, I don't want to advertise to a large group of people that I'm sick and need that degree of help with my face attached. I do talk to hotels ahead of time just to have an idea of a plan of an emergency but I usually just call on the phone.

I live in Texas, but I can't say that the cons I'd ask you to go to are here. I specifically travel for one guest and while they have come here, the last place I went to for them was Pittsburgh.

I'd feel bad asking for what I would without giving compensation though.

Depending on where you live and where the con is I'd talk about an agreement in regards to thinks like cost of travel, lodgings, etc. as well as any additional compensation.

I think many lolitas would be happy to help and happy to have someone to hang out with from out of town. I travel a lot (i'm an artist alley artist) and I always find the local lolita com wherever I'm going, and there's always people willing to give me tips or meet up with me, and I'm just a rando, not sick or anything.
