Wooow, talk about a blast from the past. This is suppose to be Minerva from FF7: Crisis Core and this girl competed at Youmacon in 2008-2009, thereabouts. At the time it was pretty impressive, considering cosplay wasn't quite mainstream yet and materials were limited for this sort of build. I wouldn't consider it a bad cosplay by any means.

What makes a bad cosplay? Some of these are just small details that are left out that don’t seem bad enough to ruin the whole thing. Others are just decent costumes with unfortunate looking people wearing them. This thread honestly terrifies me because I’d hate to end up somewhere like here despite working really hard on something.

I'm willing to look the other way on a lot of the construction on this, because it looks like someone who is pushing themselves to be a little more creative while learning to sew. Are men actually capable of looking good in a Terry Bogard cosplay? I spent at least 15 minutes on Google trying to find one good male Terry and it just didn't fuckin happen. Almost discourages me from finishing mine

A large amount of it is in the fit, which they never get right. The shirt is supposed to be extremely tight to his muscular frame, so as to show off his pecs and abs, but is short-sleeved to show his biceps off the most. His jeans are also tight fitting around his waist, which shows off his tight-assed shirt even more. There's also his markedly broad frame, which is being cosplayed by either skinny faggots or fatasses wtih zero definition, so it'll never look as good as the original by default.

Besides, the chad you want cosplaying Terry Bogard is probably ironically cosplaying BNHA or some other trending series for easy pussy anyways. Nobody knows about KoF but Mexicans (and only men) or extremely devout weeaboos who like super niche titles, who then aren't probably looking for a handsome cosplayer, but a friend to sperg out with.

Additionally, the hat all of these guys are wearing is the official hat you can buy on Amazon, even though Terry wears clearly doesn't resemble the official hat.

I think in this particular case you're being overly critical.

The entire hip piece sits a lot higher on your hips than on the mannequin he's using, so it looks a lot bigger/longer than it really is.

It's a very complicated set of armor, so I do have a lot respect for him even trying to attempt it. Looks better than a lot of mh armor out there.

That's....not that bad an idea. In fact it's pretty clever? I get that some people are really into armor/chain-mail fabrication but for workability that's a much better compromise than some.
