I've brought a toy rifle 2 years in a row for my cosplay and I E6000'd the orange tip on and covered the hand grip in white duct tape as well as the entire left side of it in white duct tape. So when I had it holstered the white duct tape side was exposed but when I posed for pictures the normal black paint was all that showed. The way I held it for pics you wouldn't be able to tell that it the entire opposite side was covered in white duct tape.

I needed a change of panties when I read this today. I was literally listening to Nakata/Capsule/Perfume all day long today (and the past few weeks really). I was on YT related when I read the news today. I was at working jamming out and wishing I could see Nakata live some day. I told myself that I shouldn't wish for things that will never happen, and instead I should see what DJs are playing AX so I can get into them now. When I went to AX's website and saw Nakata I damn near cried.

I'm so glad I have good seats because I bought my ticket when it was only M-Flo announced. I bought it then even though I don't care for R&B because I was hopeful they'd add other artists. I'm also a huge YUC'e fan, and Teddyloid is cool too.

Apparently if you never used lyft your first ride is free if you use a promo code you can find online. AMV Contest on day 1. It's after con hours, 8-9pm, so you can rest up before it's time, and it's free. You just need to pick up the tickets earlier in the day. It's surprisingly good, and maybe it'll get you to want to watch something you had no plans to.

If you've done cons before there's not really anything special. You'll need to camp early for panels and especially for autographs, you'll want a water bottle to constantly refill because in the main areas it's hot because people. Usual stuff.

I got to SDCC and I've seen exactly one ID check that was easy as hell to bypass because it was the line for a booth. It didn't even move fast. If you got caught by it you were stuck in your own world for at least 15-20 minutes not paying attention because that's how long it took to cycle through people. They were even being generous by allowing you to, if you didn't have your ID, to just show them anything that had your photo and a matching name next to it. I really doubt AX will do ID checks because it slows things down too much.

Hotels are the same price for premier fans and everyone else booking through the hotel block. The early booking is a total joke as well because it's a completely separate tiny block of rooms. You have to decide for yourself if it's worth it or not but for me the only true advantages of the premier badge are early entry to main events for good seating and access to concert ticket pre-sales which makes it possible to score "VIP" tickets for high demand stuff like Aqours. I found the other things it has are marginal or useless like the lounge or the Day 1 only early access to the vendor hall where hundreds of exhibitor badge holders will already be in line before you at anything anyone cares about.

There will still be cosplayers straggling the convention grounds for a little longer. You can also head to Little Tokyo if the shuttle is still active. It's like an AX extension since there's an anime goods shop and a Kinokuniya. If there's room, check out Real Escape Game. Chinatown is also a mile away from there. There is literally nothing in the dealers hall you can't get cheaper online nowadays. None of them carry "rare" items anymore, just run of the mill merch.

Hardly any of them bring vintage stuff with them to cons, and mostly carry contemporary crap that every store has access to.

I usually save my cash for Artist Alley since I can get one of a kind goodies or crafts nowadays. Or go to anime swap meets.

I'm pretty disappointed with the guest lineup this year. Many of them are repeats from previous years and/or just not very noteworthy aside from Go Nagai and Yuki Kaji, and the latter is only going as part of the AoT premiere when he really deserves to have a panel on his own for the people who don't give a fuck about AoT but still like his other roles. I miss when AX had less world premieres and more big name voice actors, artists, and directors.

Panels and concerts tend to be the bulk of stuff to do, unless you're a cosplayer. Don't really know what else there is beside people watching and walking the ExHall/AA during the day and the lounges and dances at night.

Talent For Cons autograph schedules are already up, if you care about those, but the GoH autos aren't listed yet, which is the biggest ask from the campers to be, self included.
