You realize that's like telling a millennial that they can't afford to buy a house because avocados right?

Do you have 20k saved up? Can you afford to take out a 20k loan for something superficial for a hobby? Most Americans don't have $400 on hand to spend if there's an emergency, let alone that much money to pay for superficial surgery, especially late in life.

Not saying said person wouldn't benefit from it. But it's a steep price to pay and they may not have the money or be willing to invest in that. A lolita wardrobe can be a small drop in the bucket depending on the size. I don't know anything about this person's buying habits or how passionate they are lolita or how much they want to go to present fully as female.

Yeah, and with that logic, the amount of money I've spent on lolita in the last 7 years, I could've had a ton of plastic surgery instead and look uguu kawaii and have a ton of social media followers. It's not priority for me, enough to sell belongings or put into savings. There are other things more important. I don't care about being the best lolita. I'd rather put my energy elsewhere.

Intrusive surgery isn't a priority or a necessity for most people. In the case of someone who is going m to f, they might want to get the surgery to help feel as if they are fully presenting themselves as they intend. But it might not be a high priority for every trans person. For her, dressing the part may be enough. It's not up to any of us to judge how someone prioritizes their money. And yes I know, this is /cgl/ we're judgemental and salty af about everything and anything people do, especially when they put themselves on social media.

I think she just needs to take off that wig and chose a less pretentious hairstyle. If you block her whole head with your thumb/hand, the coord itself actually looks coherent, it's sort of going for a summer casual outfit where she might get some iced tea with her friends.
