Gulls, let my tale be a warning to you. Never ever ever select Fedex for your international shipments. I had an oversized and overweight package (nearly 30lbs) and the only option available for shipping it all in one go from FromJapan was Fedex.

I had no idea what a clearance delay was so I googled it and founds entire forums of people bitching about this special hell that international packages go to until either the shipper or the receiver send a report detailing what's inside your box and what you're using it for.

I hop on Fedex live chat on 6/5 around 10am. Start chatting with a worker who explains all I need to do is make a list of the stuff mentioned above and email it to "upw@fedex" so I just make a quick list saying my box is full of action figures and stuffed animals and it's all for me, please give package thanks.

I let the live chat person know I've sent it and they assure me if they get the info that day they'd have it moving again next day.

I don't hear anything back from the email I sent. Live chat has vanished from the Fedex website and when I finally hunt it down on a random page it says no agents available to take my calls. I send them another email to their general customer help address. No reply.

Suck it up and call Fedex around 9am. Tell the agent my problem and she looks it up. Says they need paperwork for the package. Tell her I sent them an email with the paperwork. She looks again and suddenly discovers FromJapan sent them the paperwork overnight. Tells me everything is fine and that they're just waiting on customs to clear the package and it'll be delivered that day or 6/8.

Clearance delay. Call Fedex and get told they don't have the paperwork needed. I need to fill out paperwork to save my package. Tell them I was told to make a list of contents and email it to "upw@fedex". Worker sounds confused and tells me that's not the correct email address and there's another one, doesn't actually tell me what it is.
I let him know the last time I called they said they got the paperwork from the shipper. He looks again and suddenly finds the paperwork, claims they just got it last night and that they're just waiting on customs to release it now.
I ask him will it be delivered next week? He evades my question and just tells me when it gets released they'll contact me with a delivery estimate.

It's not even 8am and I want a drink. Never use Fedex, gulls. I'm never going to get off Mr. Delay's wild ride.

Also, sorry. Pin/badge are interchangeable imo but I'm guessing only this community calls them can badges, which I've never heard anywhere else. Enamel pins are different from pins.

i can see why you feel that way, you have a centerpiece badge but it doesn't hugely stand out from the other ones around it despite that. i do really like the layout as is, and think that a full on rosette might be too much, but you could always try decorating the badge cover to give it a little more pop.

Not inherently but considering this is a hobby about getting merch it can be a cheap cop out. Pin only bags aren't very flashy and enamel pins are pretty cheap nowadays. In an average Itabag, enamel pins are best as an accent, more for complementing bigger pieces or the whole overall look.

Enamel pins are very popular for fandoms like Pokemon (really for the badges) and can work well alongside plushes, cards, and toys. But most bandwagoners don't think about balance and what looks complementary. It's about just having a bag full of stuff to them.

They're definitely acrylic flatbacks. Goldfish marbles don't have facets and you can see from the way the light is hitting these that they do have them.

I don't hate the idea of putting rhinestones on the sides or having them in different sizes, but they should have been in neat/clean lines in one color or stripes or a diamond shape instead of this colorblind test.

Unpopular opinion, but I like this. Gems for the gem character makes sense to me. The layout reminds me of the way figure skating rhinestones are applied. I think it'd look better if they'd used crystal/glass flatbacks instead of plastic ones, though, and if they used stones about half the size. These are so big it's a little awkward.

But still, in general, I like it.

pic related is the inside of it. wego magazine that came with it for size comparison. Now, for the specifics:

feels like a fairly soft faux leather on the outside. The inside is kind of a harder plastic-y fabric, sort of like the kind you find on an umbrella or raincoat.
I don't think you'll have to worry about staining the outside too much, since it seems like it'd be easy to wipe off.
>Design
It's the exact size for the smallest allowed carry-on bags in most airlines, so that's pretty convenient. Interestingly, all the luggage space is only on one side, so it might be better or worse depending on how you pack. There are also a few buckles inside to secure things as well.
The handle extends to a pretty comfortable length, but it might feel a bit short if you're significantly taller than me (I'm 5'6" or 167cm)
Also, the heart window section does have a zipper, despite what some of the official pics look like.
>Overall
It's built pretty nicely as a carry on bag, but the inside dividers feel a little... floppy, and it's definitely still on the smaller side of travel bags. I wouldn't recommend putting anything super heavy in either. The inside supports are mainly just one hard thin-ish plastic backing and two wide metal poles on the side. (you can sort of push the fabric around from the sides).
As long as you know how to pack, though, I don't really see any of this being a problem. The white colour is pretty nice too, and theres a slight hint of beige undertones. Everything also generally just feels soft on the outside as well. It's also not too heavy either.

One final note:
Last time I said it would end up about 80usd with shipping, but turns out the proxy company messed up on the weight of the product, so they had to charge another 50usd for shipping. (I could cancel the order, of course. they were very polite).

Question about pinks - I want to start a Korilakkuma bag, and planned to use a pink base bag to match the cute pinkness of her ears and blush, and to help her merchandise "pop" (I worry that Korilakkuma stuff would blend all together if I use a cream bag). I was going to get this one from Rakuten, but looking at it closer, it's pretty apparent it's a much bluer pink than what her character uses. Will it clash if I use a cool-toned pink bag and the character's details use a warm-toned pink?

Swimmer and Wego are probably the two 'biggest' base bag makers right now. They have a good selection of styles in lots of colors, but they've discontinued a lot of bags because they were getting copied so much, so you might have to buy used. There should be info in the OP guide.

Thanks for the heads up, that's exactly what I was worried about. Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma merch tends to be big plushies and random household stuff, so it's gonna be a little hard to find small stuff to go in it but that's my goal. I have a couple mini plush keychains that will probably be fine in it, but finding flat stuff that won't mess up the bag is my priority.

Sorry for shit collage, my app kept constantly crashing and i ended up giving up trying to make it look nicer, hopefully the pics will still be big enough (let me know if not and if I can take pic of anything specific).
Like the other anon said, this bag is pretty big, the window portion is about 35cm wide, 25cm tall and measuring it on the outside, about 7cm deeps but it can easily hold larger items, I just stuffed it with a larger plushie and its perfectly fine. I bought it to hold nendoroids safely so, I'm pretty happy about it, they fit even with a base attached.
It's really nicely made, seems pretty sturdy so far and the pleather is smooth and easy to wipe clean. It's also fully lined and there's a zipper closure on the non-windowed part, a zipper pocket inside for smaller personal belongings and an elasticated-top pocket on one of the sides (that I think is perfect to hold a water bottle, for example).
The window has removable insert, it attaches only at the top with velcro and has a metal ring on each top corner. Behind it is pleather so if you want a different insert I just recommend making one of same size with velcro as well, unless you dont mind pinning through pleather.
My only "dislike" is the size of the handles, I'd have prefered them to be longer, would be more comfortable to carry on a shoulder, or a extra removable/adjustable strap.

I'd say it's fine to use them if you're going for just one base bag that's from taobao. If you only want the one thing then making a taobao purchase isn't universally better, you'll end up spending $30 in service fees and shipping anyways and then have to wait for chinese-western shipping.

But if you're thinking of adding other things to the order (badge covers, silk flowers, other bag embellishments... or some non bagging related items) then doing a taobao haul makes more sense.

He’s definitely husband and daddy!!” In the middle of the hallway and it made me uncomfortable because I had no idea how to respond besides keep walking and saying thank you. I obviously adore the character in my bag but love/fantasize is a bit far for me.

Emailed FromJapan and they told me they sent FedEx all the paperwork they needed on the 6th (the 7th here) and it's still not updated and no one has contacted me or FJ.

I've sent Fedex two emails since, one question and one complaint and not gotten a reply for either.

Tempted to call yet again because they've sworn up and down that as soon as they got the paperwork it'd be on its way to me next day and I'm on day 7.

This package was supposed to be delivered on the 6th, it's 20 minutes from my house, and I paid $300 in shipping for it.
