Has anyone ever done goofed bad enough as to having to remove paint from worbla?
In my first timer hubris, I went straight to a spray primer without a sealer layer and am seeing the fruits of my cardinal sin.

Any best methods between hand sanding, orbital sanding, or even sand blasting?

Note that all the silver pieces are not yet glued on and still removable, and it is specifically the silver I want to redo.

I would redo the entire construction of the silver pieces then if you hate it that much. Easier than trying to get all the paint off

Really makes me wonder about some of the shit you see in worbla threads.

You're probably going to have to redo it or spend a lot of time hand sanding.

Are you doing the armor? I love Mordreds armor.

Lol not sure I follow unforts.

Yeah it's looking like hand sanding is what I'm going to have to deal with. I'm going to mix in some random orbital sanding and a dremel to hopefully expedite the process.

Nah no armor, I'm making the sword as commish for someone who's making her own armor.

It's times like these I wish I knew what was in Dry Wash. I work at a funeral home and it's this magical liquid that can dissolve anything without destroying the material underneath it's like some sort of solvent, it can clean off paint, makeup, grease, anything.

This thread is spooking me. I was planning on doing 3 layers of Plasti Dip to my prop before applying primer and topcoating, but I don't want it ending up like OP's. Do I need a sealer bros? Is Flexbond the only way to go?

Lols plastidip is considered a sealer.
Alternatives include hodgepodge/gesso, wood glue, and that stuff.

From what I've read, if you have a lot of intricate small details, plastidip tends to pool in them and reduce their crispness.

maybe try meticulously protecting the rest with artist's tape and sanding it on the sword itself desu

>> No.9888922

Do a quick hand sanding and seal over the paint that doesn't come off easily. Woodglue is good for this since none of the pieces have any give.

Doing this. Thanks homie

OP update:
Turns out better than sanding is scraping! Tried all kinds of different blades but best result was with some old scissors for their stoutness.

Now I'm invested, please continue with any updates
