Did you regret selling an item you can't seem to get back?
Or do you have buyers remorse over a dress that hasn't even arrived yet? Or already regretting a MTO that you ordered some time ago?

Let's talk about it.

>> No.9883114

The only time I regret buying a dress is when I bought it for a lot only to see it lower years later.

>> No.9883165

I regret everything I buy, I always find something wrong with it. It’s miserable.

>> No.9883193

>>9883105
Yes. Picture related.
I bought it when it was new. I was a fatty at the time and thought I would be able to lose the weight. I didn’t, so after a year of having the dress I sold it still new with tags and everything. I have since had medical assistance in losing weight and getting me eating healthy with exercise, I’m over 85lbs lighter now and I’m under the measurements for the dress. But now the dress is impossible to find to replace. White shoes up, the skirt and thenother cut, but not the jsk cut I had in black.

I regret ever selling that dress.

>> No.9883198

I bought a used JSK at a swap meet when i was new, but didn't realize the importance of inspecting for damage, or checking fit beforehand. It's missing a button (a unique one), and it's s a little stretched out too. The dress is also short on me and I love the print but I just don't look good in it. I'm not sure I can sell it so it just sits in my closet unworn. Im probably going to try to fix the elastic at some point and try an underskirt, otherwise at that point I guess I'll sell it cheap.

>> No.9883205

I envy people who can buy tons of stuff in one go, entire coords, many dresses at once. It's not an issue of money for me, but I just can't bring myself to buy myself the dresses I really like. I had one or two bad run-ins with AP's sizing years ago (jsk that was too big and a dream OP that sat weird on the waist) and I think it's messed me up.

I'll see dream dresses pop up on lacemarket and think "oh but what if I don't REALLY like it that much when I get it" and then ofc it sells. This happens to me with everything I like in Lolita. If I see a new series announced that I like, I make a note of the release/reserve period, and then when it comes down to it I chicken out of buying it. I've often had the item in my cart and backed out of it. I've missed French Cafe, Honey Cake, Le Premier Cri MTO, MMM prints, Puppet fucking Circus, essentially my whole wishlist repeatedly over years because I'm so afraid that I'll get them and not look as nice as I hope to. I haven't nabbed a REAL dream dress in years because of this stupid fear.

I have buyers remorse over this Triple Fortune Dress. I mentioned my plight in the collage thread, but this thing has taken way more work than usual to coord, and I'm having to buy a lot of extra shit to make it work. It's a gorgeous dress, I was drawn in by the pattern and the gorgeous lace around the neckline, but it's so busy in such a weird way that it's made my life hell.

I purchased an Alice in Wonderland Skirt/Headbow/Tights set from the BTSSB x Disney collab and the quality ended up being really sub par. I still wear it, but I regret spending what I did on it.

>> No.9883212

>>9883205
I have this fear as well, but I always remember the resale value dresses have. I'd rather sell than miss out.

>> No.9883219

>>9883212
The resale value thing really screws with me for buying new though. Will I get this cheaper after it releases or will it be a bloodbath with it selling for twice the price after?
I know I should just take the plunge at some point but I'm so stuck in the habit of only buying stuff that's cheaper so I'll be "less disappointed" that it's really difficult, as stupid as it sounds. I really want this to be the year I get over it. The last time I bought a real dream dress was 2012, everything since then has low-priority (but still nice) stuff and hugely because I didn't cost as much as a DD. I know it's stupid thinking but I'm really hoping I can break out of it.

My #1 sellers remorse is selling this damn dress.

Due to a medical issue, I can experience EXTREME bloating. I have a waist that fluctuates anywhere from 68cm to 72cm on any given day, but I can have a week of extreme bloating via intestinal upset that will turn me into a balloon. Last year I measured my largest bloat day waist at 86cm, it was extremely painful and gradually went back down to 70cm over the course of three days. That being said, I bought this dress a couple weeks after that and since that bloat was so extreme, didn't realize that I was experiencing it again to a lesser extent (waist was at like 74~76cm). I tried the dress on, couldn't get it zipped, and was crushed- thought it was my ribs. Decided to sell it ASAP so I didn't have to mope around looking at it and it sold right away. I decide to try it on one last time before shipping it out, not sure why, and the bastard zips right up. I was going through bloat when it didn't fit, and once that was over it fit like a dream but I had already sold it. Still searching for this damn JSK. I bought the skirt to help easy the pain and it's just really not the same.

I don't generally have buyer's remorse, though. I only buy items I'm unsure of if the price is too good to pass up, that way I can sell it and break even. I only lose money those sales maybe 1/5 times, and it's never much, generally less than $20. Everything that's a high price I'm dead certain I want before I purchase it and I never end up regretting it.

I know what you mean. But usually thing sell at least at their retail value. I mean, a standard AP OP is about 30k yen which is about 270 usd for a NWT AP dress. If this was Lacemarket, wouldn't 270 usd for a NWT new release be a good price?
And even if you lose 30 bucks here, you probably save them when buying another bloodbath dress. I think overall you should just take the plunge.

>I decide to try it on one last time before shipping it out, not sure why, and the bastard zips right up.
If i were you I would've made up some lie how I spilled food on the dress and would've just refunded the buyer.
If they saw you wearing it later on I would've said I managed to clean the stain.

I know it's a dick move, but someone already pulled the "backing out because I can't part with it afterall" with me.

>> No.9883243

>>9883229
Yeah, I had a lot of people telling me to just cancel the sale and make up a lie since I made whiney fb post about it. I couldn't bring myself to do it, though. The buyer was very happy to have won the listing and I made a commitment so I didn't want to break it and upset her. The good thing is everything comes up again eventually, it'll come back around one day and I'll have the money ready for it.

>>9883225
If an AP NWT dress is being sold usually it’s sold for the same or higher than the price because it’s a coveted dress from what I’ve seen. Some AP OPs in great condition I’ve seen go for $100 on LM.

What are my chances of finding sax later on? I rarely indulge in burando yukatas.

me, but I struggle with theme of wardrobe. I can never decide do I go for sweet piece or get something classic or even another cringey piece from JetJ. I own some AP pieces, but now I look at old school IW and I feel like it was a waste of money. I know a lot of people keep it miscellaneous, but such wardrobes make me feel a bit uncomfortiable.

The fabric of the skirt is completely unlined and so thin you can see light through it. There isn't any sort of interfacing in the waist so unless you stand still, it bunches up and slides down.

The blouse fabric is scratchy and there is elastic in the cuffs, almost like the kind you'd find on a Halloween costume

The headbow just looks lackluster, tights are fine. The only part I really love is the bunny capelet, but there are so many similar capelets out there already.

You just have to figure out what cuts/brand looks good with your body type. I found one lolita brand that only releases something I love once or twice a year, but everything they release is basically made for my body. If you're really unsure, skirts are an easy way to go because you don't have to worry about how it fits with your boobs and shoulders.

The bunny hood ended up being pretty cute though, so I guess it wasn't a total loss. The entire outfit looks okay from a distance but it's uncomfortable to wear.

I should add that they're usually much cheaper too but you also pay for the brand (Disney) so you end up with something that's cheaper, but still lower quality than you expected for that money.

Another anon gave a useful tip, if you buy it through the Disney store page, then it's gonna be pretty dodgy quality (but also much cheaper, the skirt in >>9883538 was a mere 4900 yen at retail, which is 1/3 or 1/4 what btssb skirts normally sell for, so I'm really not surprised the quality isn't on par with normal btssb stuff. Same with the shirt and other stuff in the series, they were all sold through the Disney store page for a lot less than what btssb would normally charge).

If you buy it through the brand store page instead of Disney, chances are the quality will be on par with their usual, the prices will be higher to match as well -- pic related is about $300~400, I think? It's on par with AatP's usual release quality, thick fabric, lined skirt and so on.

I had this and sold it because I felt I wouldn’t fit it my ex told me that diet and exercise was a waste of time. Lost a lot of weight when I broke up with my ex. And now could easily fit it. I regret selling it because it’s hard to find now and even more for letting some douche tell me what to do with my body.

Back before the million Holy Lantern rereleases and MTOs there was a girl offering $1,200 to buy the HL cut and colorway that I owned (I had an in-store SS buy it for me when it first came out) and...yeah, I regret not selling it then. All 3 of these were huge mistakes to sell. I struggled with my wardrobe's cohesiveness for a while and kept changing my mind about what "suited me", but really I loved all 3 of these dresses so it didn't matter if they fit in my wardrobe. I'll probably rebuy all 3 some day.

I have both the cut above and the spcial edition. The SP one is a good quality. I had intentions of completing the collection and getting the third JSK (called “frill”) cut and skirt in the future. So, if you get the SP I think you’ll be good. If you got
