I honestly don't know if ero Lolita is real. It's just girls in corsets and some Lolita accessories such as socks or bloomers. Idk tho, there's not a market that I've seen (from brands) that target them specifically.

Ok. So as an oldfag, i consider ero to be "a thing" since it is sort of shown since the early days of lolita and the glb. Ero i.m.o. is sort of that grey area in the glbwhere the G meets the L. Like the gothy/club version of lolita. Its all about the styling: corsets, pleather, shorter skirts, cage pettis, fishnets, bare shoulders...not too many at once or it wont be lolita anymore. And just as any gothic or lolita coord quality matters.

I didnt post this the last two. I saw the moitie girl irl at sakura con and her coord with the sleeves worn normally was actually quite nice. These photos are bad, and not quite ero to me. The bondage one is too ott bondage wear for me to consider ero either. I like them both, but they dont really feel either ero or lolita to me, just more goth wear.

Of course my opinion isnt law, but this is the personal conclusion I have come too. Ero isnt quite lolita, but a little more then just goth. It is still elegant and refined and put together looking despite having pleather buckles and straps and the occasional ripped up fishnet. It is more thought out then just a lolita's undergarments (corset, bloomers, petticoat)etc.

The explanation I've heard that I like best is that ero is supposed to suggest a state of partial undress without actually being undress. The stocking mismatch on >>9881397 , exposed pettis or cage skirts, etc., visible corsetry and lingerie necklines/bare shoulders and so on are all meant to evoke that without actually being substantially more revealing than a normal lolita outfit.

Exactly my opinion. I like wearing ero lolita when I'm out and about attending goth events or clubbings, as it fits neatly into the gap between goth and lolita. A proper lolita coord would sometimes be too hot or boring for a goth event, but simply wearing a skimpy skirt and fishnets doesn't comply with my aesthetic needs.

please remember that this is jfashion, which is from Japan, so you can't take the terms so literally. it's not meant to arouse anyone, like in other contexts like ero-manga. it's lolita that heavily employs historical undergarments, fetishy goth material like leather and pvc, or less coverage in one or two areas of the body than standard lolita.

it's still quite controlled and never shows cleavage or midriff or the nethers.
