How do you gulls find time to wear fake nails? I'm not even in a very professional or physical labour-focused job but falsies are just so inconvenient to wear. I have to wait until I have long holidays before getting my nails done or it's just a waste of time, they just feel like they get in my way.

Am I doing something wrong?

I can't speak for other gulls, but I have good old fashioned acrylics. My real nails are weak as shit, and the only thing that stands up to the kind of abuse I put my nails through is acrylic. It's a bonus that polish doesn't chip when you have acrylics, instead it just sort of wears away at the edge.
I also don't wear my nails very long, I find the longer they are the more likely I am to catch them on something and end up breaking or chipping them.

I'm a programmer, so I can't wear ENTIRELY long nails because its a fucking pain to type with 5cm long nails, but my nails are past my actual finger.
It's all about finding balance, they're long enough to look delicate and lady like, but not long enough to get in my way.

Sadly, they do break every now and then, but I've been recently doing gel base and top coats and that's helping. I'm starting to worry about over exposure to UV rays tho and am considering using SNS base and top coats, if they work with powders.

The most important thing is for your nails to be WELL HYDRATED and FLEXIBLE.
