Hi all. I've never been to a con and I'm going for the first time next month. I want to go as Bane and I absolutely don't have the skill to make a costume at home. I may try to do the hand wrap thing on my own and age/texture the pants/jacket but I need to get the vest/mask online.

So anyone have good experiences with an artist or company for the vest/mask?

And I've been going to a trainer for almost 6 months in preparation so I can have a bulky frame and wear the vest with not shirt under it if needs be(temperature). I just want to look nice for my SO that has gone to these for years and surprise them.

There's a load of masks on ebay that range in quality. Obviously the cheaper ones look like some sci-fi thong. Not sure what your price range is.
Same goes for the vest as well.

The vests for sale don't look as good as the masks. Anyone have a lead on a base vest I can use to insert foam pieces. I think I can cut the buckle out of a piece of brass and the straps are a generic FDE LBV. It's the one piece I'm not happy buying. My budget isn't really an issue. Maybe $500 for the entire costume.

I'm 6' 2" 230 and have been power lifting for nearly 2 years with a personal trainer for the last 6 months. I have no intention of embarrassing myself. Don't worry haha. I have no delusions about what I'm capable of pulling off.

I'm trying to find something like pic related as a donor plate carrier to inset foam in to and texture as metal.

I'm not as ripped as that manlet though I must admit. That's why I'm not going as some shirtless classic bane.

Going to try to pair some sort of slick carrier with these molle suspenders and add the brass buckle and red straps.

The hard part is finding the right donor vest. It's almost like he had a FDE colored baseball catchers chest pad but I don't think that will look quite right. I'm trying to find just the right base vest.

In tac boots I'll prob be 6'4" and that dude is on a heavy cycle. It's pretty pathetic. The only supplements I use are the food I cook and eat.

Not sure how much you're willing to spend on just the mask, but Gotham City FX did a great urethane version my brother used a few years ago for his outfit. Vest wise you can probably find something similar at an army/navy surplus store, (which, if you have one near you, would help to look at in person), but otherwise I'm not sure of a specific dealer that might work, unfortunately.

Thanks! The mask looks great. I'll have to search my soul on whether or not I want to drop $100 or $150 on a Bane mask.
