Has anyone had any experience with tinting clear plastics?

Specifically, I have a motorcycle helmet that I bought for a Biker (from Hotline Miami) cosplay, and the visor is clear. I'm basing my cosplay off pic related, so I am needing to darken the visor.

Doing some basic google research, it seems my options are to use Rit dye to darken it, spray on tint, or tint sheets that I can apply onto one side of it.

I am unsure of which of these would be the best/ most economical way to go, as obviously I would want it to affect my vision as little as possible.

Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated.

You can often get tinted visors for a lot of helmets - look up the helmet you got, and see if there's an available tinted visor. Has a 'sunglasses' type effect.

If you can't find one to fit the helmet you bought, then I would suggest using the tint sheets.

you can take any plastics and tint them any color you want by boiling them in RIT dye. had to do some starscream eyes out of some cheapass plastic lenses, worked fine. just make sure you keep an eye on it.
