Thats not too far off, it was meant to cater to what was then an under-served market (the original Otakon Vegas idea dates to 2002)

The other was the admittedly naive rationale an anime con would be an extra incentive to get otaku to come to Las Vegas.

I'm at otakon vegas 2018 right now. This is the second year I have attended and it's awful and boring. I don't think more than 200 people showed up this year, it's fucking dead and all the staff can do is sit on their fat asses and bitch at people for standing in line to get tickets because the ticket booth is blocking a fire exit.

They also have sandwiches in a maid Cafe that's been sitting out for over 8 hours.

The only enjoyable part about Vegas otakon is when some autistic weeboo starts singing karaoke and even that made me want to kill myself via drinking lighter fluid. THERE'S NO REAL PANELS, just fucking vegas locals screaming into microphones advertising their shitty deviantart.

Fuck this con, better off gambling $60 bucks.
