I do have to agree that, while it is a rather large blow to the cosplay community over here in Perth, some of the comments I've seen from the community are pretty vile. If people want conventions to survive, they can't expect to just hang around outside the convention center in cosplay, sneak in when they can, and not give any money back to the event. I'm local to the area for Border Dimensions & have been to the last 2, it's very small but a nice little con with some good panels, don't expect too much by the way of stalls though. Surprisingly quite a lot of cosplayers attend which is really nice (there's an adults & a kids cosplay comp too, prizes aren't amazing though - random nerd merch), if you're nearby it's worth checking out! It's also worth checking out Shepparton's Nerdmania if you're close to it, it's a bit bigger. It's great to see smaller cons pop up, I hope it's a trend that's going to continue!
