If there are enough juicy secrets people will want to see them and bookmark the new site. if you like secrets, submit them to LJ. there they can be archived in perpetuity, as well as be easily accessible to the global comm.

I don't know why people here are defending lj so hard. Anyone who has got into lolita in the past 5 years doesn't use it for anything but secrets and maybe historical reference, if they're interested enough.
The Social Network mocked LJ in 2010. Seven years ago! LJ is a joke, almost anything else is better. I think people here are nostalgic, there are probably lots of lolitas now who never heard of LJ otherwise.

there's no harm in keeping secrets on LJ. you can't revamp it for a new generation but piggyback on the tried and true. you're going to get a whole lot of undesirables or newbies with very little to say. OP included.

I used to be really active on Xanga many years ago, and that *actually* died. as long as LJ is still a thing, I see nothing wrong with continuing to post on BTB and D_L and egl/comm sales. even if the number of posts has dwindled over time.
