I always thought this con was worth it despite what others have said about it.

Only real problems I had with it are

They might have fixed this with food trucks but I wasn't able to go last year

Really my biggest peeve since the water places they do have are really out of the way and hard to get to

If you never been to a con you'll enjoy the selection, but anyone returning who's gone to cons in richmond/Raleigh will see a LOT of the same shit

This sounds like a lot of negative but overall it's minor gripes that I had to think about and it isn't really con ruining.

Also never look at the facebook for the con unless you want to have a brain aneurysm with the amount of bullshity complaints about ""shit that 100% happened, dad works at sony and he saw it!!!"".

Basically what the others have said. It's a great first con but there ARE some issues To add onto what >>9668641 said some other things to note are.

Gophers are either usually power tripping or so fucking clueless you're better of avoiding them. Some won't care that you bring back your cup from mcdonalds, others will bitch and moan about no outside drinks or food.

Doublecheck what panels you would want to visit and make sure you give some buffer time if you want to go eat somewhere, DO NOT eat at the kitchen they have in vendor hall 2. It's a rippoff for some of the worse food out there, you're better running down the street and grabbing something.

Also, Saturday night gets fucking crowded if you are claustrophobic stick to the second floor, outside area, or hotel. Friday night is crowded too usually but you really feel how restricting the floor space is with the amount of people they shove into there.

overall for the Hampton Roads area it's the best con without going to Richmond/NoVa or something.

Rule #1, avoid the facebook of a con after it at all costs. Most aren't bad but nekocon is full of the most complaining weebs I've seen at any con. Generally for nekocon, and most cons really, you always hear about shit_that_totally_happened.txt; which is usually someone complaining that they weren't the center of attention the whole time.

Honestly, there are a few bad NekoCon staff here and there who power trip, but most are pretty good. The power trip comes from some who think they have all this power, but higher up staff keeps telling them they do not. All they use to back up their rule is "someone else told them this".
