What's the most expensive thing you'd use for a cosplay?

I feel like people who cosplay with instruments generally either already have and play the instrument, borrow it from someone (or use an old one from somewhere) or, I've even found instruments in thrift stores. They don't need to work properly if you clean them up and make them look nice.

And with things like >>9659576 and >>9659585 you know damn well that's just someone's personal vehicle and they're a giant nerd and they just drive it around like that because they like it. So I don't know that I'd really consider it a "prop" because it's not like they bought it just for a cosplay.

>> No.9659591

I bought a dslr for a cosplay once. I said I would use it to take pictures, but I never have lmao. It's just sitting there collecting dust. I feel kind of bad spending so much money on something I only used for a one time costume.

A violin. A friend let me borrow it and all day I was extremely cautious about it because it's super expensive and she obviously cares a lot about it.
I wouldn't let anyone else hold it and treated it with the utmost care.

>> No.9659621

>>9659594
Tactical is different though. I know plenty of people who buy shit for cosplay but that stuff can be used for so many different costumes, it's a pretty good investment.

I got a dremel to /make/ props, and a heat gun. Haven't used the dremel yet, though. Not a prop.

I know princesses that have bought $300 wigs, that's the most expensive I've heard of. (again, not a prop tho)

It could be a student violin. Most people I know had one as a kid and graduated to a better one in high school, so borrowing a cheap 100 dollar violin isnt as bad as a 800 dollar one.

I wonder if some of the hibike cosplayers play their instruments, that would be a nice touch. I can play most brass competently but I wonder if anyone else would play it. Not like you /have/ to, just a nice touch.

Even though things like vehicles are personal items, they're still props in these cases and they're still expensive as hell. I've seen people cosplay with real weapons, etc (good luck getting it into a con though)

Nah, she knows I'm very careful with my own stuff to begin with and we were together.

That's literally the recommended stance for offhand shooting for CMP competitions. Just because tacticool faggots don't ever shoot for accuracy doesn't mean everyone else shares the same retardation. That's how they teach standing for competition shooting, and it's how they taught standing for Table 1 quals in the Marines.

And I didn't have any issues with that stance for the WWII rifle category in that competition either. Not my fault you're a pussy who can't handle recoil. Maybe if you weren't a conscript from some Europoor nation and joined an actual professional military you'd learn how to shoot.
