I'm a chubbo lolita myself so if anyone is looking for any tips I can do my best. Forewarning that I am pear shaped and don't have too much trouble with the bust area.

I'd say the hardest items for me to find are things for my legs. I'm also into other jfashions so finding pants/skirts/etc is always a challenge. My best find in that regards in Punyus. Man I freaking love Punyus. They also carry larger sized shoes for those with bigger feet interested in jfash

Yeah and honestly, as far as fashion goes, lolita is one of the better choices for chubby girls. It covers a lot of skin, basically hides the thighs and stomach, and draws in at the waist. Obese people are never going to look amazing but even something like >>9655688 prevents you from seeing any rolls, fupa, saggy butt etc. Obese people in my country tend to wear leggings and it's far worse.

I would consider myself a chubby/overweight lolita. I only fit into fully shirred brand and have to get custom measurements from Taobao brands.

The hardest part is honestly finding blouses, shoes, and tights for me.

I find, however, since a lot of fat hangs around my stomach and hips for me that lolita hides it well. It took me a couple of years to come to terms with how to actually dress mysellf in lolita, and I am still not 100% convinced what cuts work and don't work. I tend to avoid empire / sack dresses and anything low waist since it would accentuate my stomach.

I honestly want to get a sack dress to see if it could work, however!

Sack dresses work, providing you don't have tits.

They fit best on a pear shaped body IMO

You tie the waist ties loosely so there is some waist shape, and as long as you don't have huge titties, it'll look fine.

Yeah judging by what little i can see in your pics they should work for you. I definitely suggest getting ones that have waist ties though. They're the key to pulling them off IMO because you can adjust how tightly you tie them so that the shape of the dress is just right with your petti.

I also tend to wear my petti a bit higher up when I wear a sack dress to help the shape, but I use A-line as well, so I don't get the baby bump look.

>for the people new to lolita
plus size in lolita is not synonymous with real-world normie plus size.
historically, lolita usually counts everyone who cannot flatteringly fit unshirred brand blouses (not cutsews) or JSKs as plus sized.
If you own and comfortably rock non-shirred MMM or MM then you have a body that lolita brands normally cater to.
even average-looking girls may be plus when it comes to lolita.

This thread, however, is for above average, noticeably chubby girls who wear lolita.

>> No.9656965

>spews a bunch of bullshit

Don’t listen to this person. Lolita has changed immensely in the past 10 years. While once it was extremely size restrictive it isn’t anymore, American plus sized girls can easily fit partially shirred brand and the old target audience of tiny petite girls are now swimming in OPs. Even MM and VM have plus size friendly clothing now. Plus size means actual plus size as lolita has catered to a western audience more and more.

nowhere did I say plus sized people can't wear brand. why are you being insane and defensive?

some people itt seem to be confused looking at the photos posted, wondering if x or y is considered "fat"
this thread is for actually bigger girls wearing lolita, but things get complicated when the term "plus-sized" comes in because the changes you mentioned are recent and we still have many gulls who were here before AP's tents and half-shirred everything, and may have saved inspo under older criteria. People confuse the two all the time because reading is hard apparently.

I'm just explaining so that new people are aware that >>9656839 is right in saying over weight =/= plus sized in this fashion.

This is all horizontal measurements so far, but if we're talking height, brands have not really changed dress length to accommodate tall western-chans. Meta and IW have their occasional long versions of releases but on average dresses are between 83 and 90cm long.

So, yeah, there's a lot to be aware of here and people should stick to posting visibly chubby people to avoid confusion.

agreed with this. I will say they're not for everybody, but I do know some folks swear by them. I tried a couple different ones and they made my armpits hurt even though the straps weren't binding up or anything. not sure if jamming the breast tissue up into my pits was messing with my lymph nodes or what. but that doesn't sound like it happens to everybody, so ymmv on that.

also if you're not used to how they make your boobs look, it may look weird because they look just as big or bigger diameter-wise, but flatter, because the tissue has to go somewhere. doesn't look the same as a binder or sports bra though. best comparison I can think of is like a meatball that's been partially smooshed down to make a patty. again, it might look a little different on you. either way, anon is right about the support. they do seem to reduce jiggling a lot. and they should definitely help with fit.

maybe try 1-2 different models and see what you think. it's worth the cost to at least give them a shot.

Does anyone have any tips for looking slimmer in lolita? I'm not plus size by a long shot (34b 24w) but I have broad shoulders and thick calves so I look crazy bulky in lolita. I know lolita makes people look bigger in general and is to be expected but what are some ways to either downplay how large my shoulders are or play up how small my body is?

Get a huge petticoat and don't wear poof sleeves.
I also have huge shoulders (but small calves) and this works well for me.

I'm not very sure how well this picture will come up but I suppose I would give my story

When I started wearing Lolita I was really close to 200 pounds, and I wasn't very happy with how I looked in any of my coordinates so I took a big leap of faith and slowly dipped myself into working out and eating better.
For the first 5 months I had very little progress but during months 6-10 I had a huge improvement with over 35 pounds lost. I started working out 6 days a week and making extra sure that I was eating better and watching my salt intake and upped my water intake.

I noticed that I lost a lot more in my waist than anywhere else. I only lost 4 inches in my bust, and 2 inches in both of my thighs. However, even with that I fit Lolita a lot better, and once I get down 30 more pounds I'm rewarding myself with dropping $300 on some brand pieces that I've been looking forward to getting.
Pic related is me from over the weekend when I went to an oddmall event in my town.

This is loosely plus-size/chubby related,so I thought I would ask here. Where to buy maxicimam lovely apartment from cd japan?

>> No.9661697

I feel like this is the perfect thread to ask, especially since it’s already a topic.
I am a 75F / 34DDD/E and every dress I own looks bad on me. The bodice of normal waist dresses always end just below my breasts, which looks really bad because you can see they weren’t meant to be high waist/empire waist dresses. Low waist dresses are a good length, but don’t fit at the underbust. (As they have the waist meassurements over there.)
I tried binders, sport bras, minimalizers, but nothing works. As all of these things don’t change the position. I feel so demotivated, I have no idea if there even is a Lolita dress that would look good on me. So I was wondering if there is something that could fix this problem. Some say corsets, but I feel a little skeptical after all these other advices have failed. I don’t want to spend a lot of money on something that might not even work.

I know I could also choose to wear skirts instead of dresses, but I also can’t find any Lolita blouses in my size that are also long enough. (I am quite tall with a lot of heigth in my torso.) So yeah, advice is appreciated.

>> No.9661699

>>9661610
They don’t sell that specific dress on CDJapan. CDJapan doesn’t get all the dresses and with new releases it can take a while before they have them. Same is with Moitie.
I don’t know if there is a Japanese store for Maxicimam, but I would advise you to use an SS and buy there. I would not take the risk to wait for it to appear, as the dress might get sold out in between and the dress might never get uploaded.

You could also send CDJapan a message about it, as they started a proxy shopping service as well.

If you’re normal sized with gigantic tits then I’d talk to your doc about a possible breast reduction, I’m sure your back would appreciate it. If you’re plus sized and have giant tits then my advice is to lose weight. A lot of girls see weight loss in their boobs when they start to slim down, so maybe that would help you out long term. Short term; I think you honestly might just be SOL.

It’s the first one and unfortunatly I don’t have back issues, so I am afraid the procedure will not be covered by my insurance. They are very strict nowadays on who is qualified for what. I can still lose some weight, but unfortunately I don’t lose weight there.
Another way to get a procedure done is saying it mentally effects you, but I am not good in convincing people, especially not doctors. Even when something is really wrong they don’t believe me.

>> No.9661841

Sounds like you need a new doctor, and if it’s mentally distressing you like this and making you sad I don’t see why there would be such a huge problem. I had a friend awhile back that got her reduction covered because she was miserable living with giganto boobs

If they're as huge as you say and look it then just going into there should be enough to convince them. Thats what I did, I didn't even need a referral from my doctor about back pain or metal stress either. Insurance completely covered it too.

we seem to have about the same proportions, my boobs are just a little smaller than yours and iktf. instead of cutting them off you could look into alterations, like lengthening the straps of your jsks with fabric from the waist ties. i don't plan on selling my dresses so that's what i do.
