My biggest thing with tattoos is how I read everyone sees them as criminal, and you won't get into a bathhouse, swimmingpool, sportplace or any other place you would have to undress/redress, and the ones that do allow it are full of Yakuza.
I defiantly want to make a effort to connect and do things the "Japanese" way so to say. It often sounds stressful, but it's pretty much a dreamjob kinda case, and the market is really small in Japan, even smaller outside of it.
I'll send you a mail, hearing stories from people already living there is defiantly nice!

If you're moving to Japan, learning Japanese seems a good idea. At least learn enough to have normal conversations. For me, it's just that I want to write humanoid AI for android robotics. pic related, it's Hiroshi Ishiguro's ERICA. Also, what I've heard, there are places that only want Americans who thread them well, but the companies that allow non-Americans to teach generally thread their people badly, because many otakus want to go to Japan, so for you, there are many others.
