What is this coat type called? I need to buy/make a jacket fairly similar to this but of a plain color, and for the life of me I can't figure out the correct terms to enter into the magic internet machine to give me anything.

Ah I'm so happy to finally have obtained this skirt~~ It's not crazy rare by any means, pops up every few months it feels like, but getting it for a very cheap price is amazing to me. Personal dream item I guess? Wanted it for Christmas last year, but only Hervia and her crazy scalping $279 one was available for those months, which is insane because even the JSK which more people want struggles to sell for about $220. Seller has no feedback so I'm a bit nervous, but plenty of proof pics, selling other items, and a good detailed description gave me enough confidence.

Now just to get a comfy sweater cutsew to have my ideal casual Christmas coord~~

It's actually a different "print" each year, except instead of printing a flat illustration, it's a woven monochrome design. You can pick out the melt design or the ribbon design and the different ways AP writes their name according to which year's release it is.

It's not really a chocolate fabric that they're using, more like it's a limited edition print, same as any other limited edition print they make. They didn't really stop using it so much as stop making more.

Yeah that's what I try to think about as well. I'm not that happy with it anymore, but it's a hard to get print in the JSK cut, so I always end up in 'keep it'.
If I was able to get my hands on the lavender colorway for a decent price I would instantly sell the grey one.

My vocabulary's not very good, so I apologise in advance. The gate is very smooth. It's only slightly raised, and if you run your hand over the dress, there's only a slight textural difference between the material of the dress and the print itself. I'm the second owner of my skirt, and it has been worn less than five times so I can't say for dresses that have seen more wear, but the way the design is printed, you'd really have to work to make it crack or anything. It's not as heavily printed, if that makes sense, as their newer stuff. If you'd like some close up pictures, I can post for you.

Just searching "pretty school" brings up some results, and you can also try "ap 条纹" (ap stripe). I haven't used an SS in a while so I can't give any recent recommendations, definitely refer to the taobao thread about which SS are willing to buy from 2.taobao. This thread made me realize a few nights ago that I don't have any dream dresses.

Not bc my wardrobe is complete or anything - it's very small, and I'm probably not going to keep some items forever - but because I genuinely have never seen a dress I absolutely HAD to have, in the way that so many people ITT obviously do.

It's kind of a sad feeling desu. I've spent the last few days browsing, trying to force a dream dress to appear, but no luck. For whatever it's worth, my aesthetic is old school Classic, solids and suitings preferred and no border prints in my wardrobe at all so far.

How did you decide on your dream dresses, gulls? Was it a moment of love at first sight? Seeing it on someone else? Something that complemented your wardrobe well?

I'm not actively searching for them and I can live without them but if I happen to see one of them for sale I will likely take the opportunity to buy it without thinking too much.

Honestly? My dream dresses are basically everything I saw when I was first starting lolita, when I was too poor to buy any of it. I mostly wear classic now, but my dream dresses are things like Baby's Snow Dot JSK and Pocket Embroidery JSK and AATP's Versailles Rose. To be quite honest with you, some of ym dream dresses were pretty meh or unappealing to me at first. But then I saw someone wear it in certain way I never considered before. Then suddenly this dress becamepart of my aesthetic in this specific way to wear and I HAD to have it.

Like Honey Cake, I only saw people wearing it in a very pastel sweet way and I didn't like that. But then I saw how you can wear the ivory colorway in a very casual and retro way and even Rilakkuma themed (which was my obsession back then) and I fell in love.

That dress is the Ribbon Rose Embroidery JSK, by Btssb. It is famous because it was an important plot point in the movie Shimotsuma Monogatari (Kamikaze Girls in english), which is about the strange friendship between a self-absorbed, misanthropic lolita and a tough but big-hearted biker girl. The story was written by Novala Takemoto, who was a Btssb designer at the time. It's a pretty fun movie, you should check it out.
