Do any of you allow animals around your lolita or cosplay clothing? I see girls holding their cats in lolita all the time, but this goes for anything from reptiles to birds, all of your pets.

Another question, if I buy burando from someone who has a cat (I'm allergic) is there any way to get the allergens out 100%? Dry cleaning, desu?
I try to keep my own dog away from my closet even though I don't sell my lolita items. He's even hypoallergenic, I just am worried that people would be like, "Ew, this bitch has a dog on her burando? Most embarrassing behavior!"
He's very small and fluffy so he makes for very cute pictures, I'm just worried people will judge me. Plus, hairy clothing... I want to walk him when I wear lolita, but all of this worries me.
Opinions? Do you let your animals near your clothing?

It's your clothes. Pose with your pet if you want, just be aware of the risks that come with it e.g. damage to your clothes, lowered chance of resale. When it comes to reselling, just add that you own pets in the sales post. I don't think anyone would bitch about it if you've already warned them in advance. As for getting allergens out of clothes, sorry no clue.

My cat once chewed off the last two inches of some really thin waist ties. Luckily it was a non patterned dress and I just cut the other waist tie to match and sewed up the ends. I tuck all my ties up into the corset lacing or remove them and hang them on the crossbar of the hangar now.

can I just say, I'm always so annoyed when people on sales posts/pages say
>have pets
>b-but Scamper isn't allowed in my closet!!1!!

clearly you don't let your animal roll on your brand, but that doesn't mean hairs aren't lightweight and can't pick up on a breeze and end up in a shipping box, or on the fabrics.

I'm not an allergy-anon but that disclaimer is just so ineffectual and dumb. say you have pets and buyers will be uncomfy or comfy with the risk of possible fur&dander traveling with the item.

all this being said, one day I hope to have 2 or more doggos because they are the best animals. can't wait!!!

I'm a person who says that, but I also follow it up with hairs travel and highly allergic people could still be affected. The point I try to get across with that is that an animal is strictly not allowed in my closet (or in my case, room that has the closet) to let them know that scratches, snags, pet odor, and potential pet-induced stains won't be an issue.

No, actually. We had pets threads before, and some people apparently do indeed let their cats roll around in their burando because it's so cute. Plus the girl up thread with the chewed off waist ties, you have to wonder if the cat ever licked her other dresses and no one noticed.

It's supposed to be a sign that the dress is fairly clean, but pet owners and those with allergies generally know that pet hairs travel, so depending on the severity of your allergy you either gtfo or you decide it's ok enough that you can deal with it.

That said, I think pet hairs is just part and parcel of buying secondhand. There's a reason the dress price takes a cut just because you're buying someone else's used goods, you will never know 100% where the dress has been, whether the dress has pet hairs or was worn for a porno or sissy kink session.

My cat understands what a firm "No" means and will actually take strides to jump around my things if she thinks she shouldn't step on them (keyboard on bed, book on floor, ect). If I tell her "No" while holding up or pointing to something, she wont touch it.

Not a crazy dog lover but seriously, why do people think cats are cleaner? They both lick their privates and then spread it around. At lest you can hose a dog if it gets messy, and if you are a responsible owner are encouraged to go to the groomer super regularly. All the people I know who have cats (bar one) have never washed their cat or taken them to the groomer because it is assumed that they are clean. Dogs and cats literally wipe their arse with their tongues and then wipe that tongue on the rest of their bodies + saliva and what ever they have eaten.

And don't even get me started on litter boxes. Unless you are super vigilant or stay home all day, if the animal uses the tray even twice a day before you can clean it they are standing on/ digging through their own urine or excrement to once again evacuate... which they then traipse through your house, lick up, and spread on their bodies.

Anyways, I don't really get the whole Cats vs Dogs argument, although I have noticed that generally when people argue the cons of either animals they normally mention the undesirable behaviors that are apparent in poorly trained animals and that isn't really their fault.

All in all, buy an animal and breed that suits your lifestyle, be a responsible owner and wash them... REGULARLY.

Keep themselves clean by licking themselves with the same tongue that lovingly smooches their own arse, putting saliva all over their body + piss and shit.. constantly. Congrats you cuddle up to an animal who depending on age has X year old crap lovingly coated on their soft soft fur.

chickens do bathe in dust and dirt yes, but you should also bathe them in a particular product to get them super clean and ward off any skin ailments or mite infections that are carried in by wild birds. It also, leaves them super fluffy which is glorious.

Idk how much you know about cats, but none of this works this way.
First of all a healthy cat's butt shouldn't be dirty and in need of cleaning in the first place. Also, cat's don't lick the anus, only the fur around it, which has no poop on it unless it's sick. Same goes for urine.
Second, they usually don't get dirty bc of their litter box, the litter traps the excrements fairy well and they avoid stepping on it. Otherwise their paws would be dirty all the time, but they are dusty at most.
Also, saliva isn't an hygienic issue, it's something to expect when having a cat and they don't get themselves completely wet when cleaning, it's mostly brushing.

Of course cat's can't be as clean as a human that showers every day, but a house-kept cat is a pretty clean pet.
And you shouldn't wash a cat unless you really need to, because it can make them sick.

The problem ist that firtsly, most cat's don't like baths so it's pretty stressful. Secondly, depending on the breed it's hard to make sure your cat is really 100% dry. Part of my issue with dogs is that I feel like dog owners have more control (and thus more responsibility) over their pets than cat owners do. If I meet a cat, getting it to leave me alone is almost always easy and harmless, worst case scenario I'll have to give it a kick but even then cats are so small it's no real force and they can't really harm me if I do. Dogs, even small ones, tend to be much more... agressive in their desire to say hi or whatever, and as a dog owner it's your responsibility to keep your pet in check. I don't even have a dog fear but I still get uneasy when dogs approach me (even smaller dogs) and I absolutely loathe to see dogs that aren't on leashes... one too many bad experiences. On top of that, it's law here that all dogs must be on leash for the most part of the year. An irresponsible cat owner will only harm their pet, an irresponsible dog owner runs a much bigger risk of harming someone else, or someone elses pet.

On top of that, you only run into dogs together with their owners, while cat and cat owner are often separated. So bad dog experiences gets a face attached to them while bad cat experiences doesn't.

As a person who's not into dogs I also have anecdata on dog owners being more apologeptic of their pets behaviour etc. but I recognize that that's probably biased.

Semi-related to what I said above, but while big dogs absolutely demand training, smaller dogs need for training is easier to ignore. So there's plenty of terribly trained small dogs out there simply because their owners think they're cute and too small to do damage so they don't NEED to be heavily trained.
