Most shops don't even serve minors (even less in the case of Menhera because of the bondage and nsfw stuff) so, no. Plus most of the icons like Rinahamu (20s), Senanan (25), Iku (39), Junnyan (late 40s) and everyone from Broken Doll (30s) is in a age range of 20-40s, you simply don't notice that they are this old because of filtering themself to death.

They are originally a Punk Rock brand and what style they make depends a lot on the collection, the colorful stuff that isn't pastel would be simply Pop Kei but that's pretty dead since the Oshare Kei boom died, the only other brands that I would remember making this would be Galaxxxy and some on Rakuten JP.

I've washed mine, I just use a delicate wash to be safe. So I put them inside out, wash them at 30degrees, 800spin and only the tiniest drop of softener. Honestly I'd rather use no softener(as I know it's bad) but my skin is kind of sensitive to rough feelings.
Also if you wear something under when you can then you're less likely to get any sweat/deodorant stains.

The secondary market for yumekawa etc. just feels like a big pain in the ass compared to for lolita. In lolita, you have scalpers who can get you almost anything ASAP for $$$ and you can also find items at a reasonable price if you wait. Closet Child, Alice Fururun, etc. make used shopping easy.

Meanwhile in yumekawa (& yami/guro even moreso) there are way fewer items on the Western secondary market and what is there is priced close to retail. The JP secondary market is mostly auctions. And things I want, I can't even find at a markup from scalpers.

Fairy kei is specifically pastel 80's inspired fashion with a vintage look
Just like there is lolita which is the umbrella term for that fashion as a whole, but there are specific substyles like sweet and gothic

yumekawaii is a fairly recent term i guess that was also coined by fashion magazines (just like fairy kein when it first came around) but it's pretty much the same thing all in all. but yeah, like the others pointed out, it's now also being used for the general aesthetic. and as the fashion is evolving it just seems to be the name that's being used for its updated style.

i think the whole yumekawaii thing also came up when people started wearing actual pastel pajamas with their outfits (yume = dream/dreamy) so perhaps that's also interesting to know.

Lolita is a much older fashion. There use to be real bad issues with scalpers in lolita when the fashion was younger, and brands were harder to purchase in Europe and America. Yumekawaii is a new fashion, and many people likely aren't tired of their items, not to mention there's only so many brands creating wearable clothing. The fact the second hand market is smaller makes it less affordable to those starting out unless they want to use an auction service for the Japanese secondhand market. Eventually, if the fashion remains popular over long period of time, there will be less scalpers and a larger second hand market.

Sweaters and shirts also generally get more wear and tear then a dress so items aren't going to keep as long in a condition worthy of purchasing.
