If your kid liked dressing up, would you dress them in brand? Would you teach them how to coord for different jfash styles and substyles? Would you coordinate outfits together?

>> No.9362384

Nah I would never give a kid brand. They'll get it messy and quickly grow out of it. If I ever have kids I might color-coordinate them to match my coords when they are really young, but nothing more than that.

I don't dress my kid in ouji. He's got no interest and fashion is my hobby, he's busy being a kid.

Modified JP brand? No, that's what the kid's side of Taobao brands are for as they grow way to fast out of everything.

I'm currently pregnant with a girl. If she's actually interested in the fashion I'd love to dress her up with me but I don't think I'd buy her brand until she's old enough to fit and appreciate it. Taobao and Bodyline kids section would probably be what I'd get for her. But still that's only if she's interested in it. If she doesn't want to wear it I wouldn't force my kid into my hobby.

>> No.9362934

Normies dress their kids in what they want until they are old enough to decide, why wouldn't I? I probably would hand make many of the clothes though. I am a good sewer and I wouldn't be upset if what I made got wrecked when playing. Most kids clothes patterns are easily loliable with tweaks anyways. I would probably buy some nice things from stores for events though, and 10/10 would twin.

>> No.9363149

actually in sweden i see a lot of lolita wearing children to conventions etc, and also to smaller gatherings like flea markets with a japan-theme. i find this rise in fashion awareness in such young kids (7-10) very interesting. maybe kids are growing up faster these days and finding out about fashion etc than when i was a kid? both normie and alternative fashions. also in sweden kids love eurovision song contest and we have had jfashion inspired contestans who gained huge popularity among the children.
so if i had a child now that was that age, propably wearing such clothes would not be so strange for them? i dont know.

there is always the elemnt of not wanting your child to get bullied for standing out from the norm too much and possibly get hurt too. which is sad because it means you let insecurities stand in the way for creativity. but i see why parents sometimes want their kids to dress "normal". i want my child to be treated like a person, not a freak, you know?

little ouji-esque sailor top/bloomer sets are really popular with parents in my area. i don't think it's super out there, and most other parents would probably find it cute and similar to what the british royal family wears.

you could make a little ouji set to match your lolita!

>> No.9363804

I have a boy. He's 2 now and such a bundle of energy that I don't think he'd last in an ouji coord. He'd probably fall and rip it or spill something on it within minutes. (At least he's cute to begin with~~~)

We're hoping to have 1 more child in the coming year and we're hoping for a girl. I haven't completely given up on dressing up with my child(ren), but I don't think it'll ever be in the cards. And even if we do have a girl, I'd never buy her brand. (At least, not until she's older and has expressed a solid interest in the fashion. Then we'll talk.)

Hey man, maybe she'll like the fancy dresses you present her with.

I've been wearing lolita around my little one since she was born, but recently it seems like she's had this leap in mental development or awareness or something because it's been fascinating her like never before. She squeals at me, pats my skirt, lifts it to look at my petticoat, pats my petticoat, wants my wristcuffs, then she wants to put my wrist cuffs on me, points at the bows on my shoes...sorry for the blog but she's so fucking cute. She'll be 2 in a little under three months.

She definitely already has preferences in colours and things like that. She will point at little designs on her clothes and bring me something if she wants to wear it for the day. I go to a thrift store where I find a lot of 80s and 90s kids clothes. Most recently I got a dress with a sailor collar and a velvet long sleeve dress with a ton of lace and a big square collar. It almost looks a bit old school lol, frumpy in an endearing way. The day I bought it she dug it out of the bag and demanded I put it on her.

So yes, provided it stays that way, I will dress her up and I'm currently working on matching sets for us. But unless it's a special occasion, I don't dress her up. In fact she wears a lot of boy's clothes since they come in darker colours and are easier to wash...she's very rambunctious and if there's a way to get dirty she will find it.
