I think those designs are quite easy to find and AP puts similar ones out once in a while. Idk but every bag I have bought have been okay unless the previous owner was gross. However, I haven't been able to get bags that old expect IW's Francois bag from 2006. It's white canvas like material so of course it was discolored and stained but I managed to clean it up with tooth brush, baking soda and dish soap.

It came up again in the last thread that Montreal rhs can be purchased via eBay. I recall them to not have wooden sole so I'm not really interested in those but their other desings. Can someone confirm their quality nowadays? Is it better than Antaina? I ordered Antaina boots and they were supposed to be with cork sole but came with solid instead. It took me too long to realise what was wrong with them to complain and I guess there is very little to do afterall. If the quality is similar to Antaina I guess it's best to save up little more and purchase better quality ones from Meta or something with less preferred design.

Well I have been following these threads for a while now and have never heard their quality being compared to something. They were the shoes in my community for a long time and everyone had their cork soled shoes so that's partly why I asked. They are a similar price as Antaina shipped to me after all.

I haven't purchased anything worth of mentioning lately but I was able to identify a dress I already had. Pic related, but it's ivory x purple colorway. I got it from a person who just wanted to get rid of her old lolita clothes and I was quite excited about it untill I discovered it doesn't fit. It was only tight on my arms so I thought about altering it because I assumed it's just generic ~2008 Baby release. Today I discovered I was wrong, it's actually Victorian op from 2005. I also tried it on again and it fits. It's not too comfy but I'm so happy. It's always so nice to find out the dress you own is actually rather old one.

although platforms/wedges/rhs are associated with oldschool they weren't the only styles, flat buckle and strap shoes/mary janes were also pretty common but people seem to forget this. I would recommended checking through old g&l bible scans for lots of examples and alternatives.

What do you old school gulls think of tulle lace? Should one avoid it? I want to use a newer piece with tulle lace in my coord but I'm not sure how it will mix. I know especially IW used to put it in theit dresses even back in the old school days (box pleat jsk, for example). It's an apron that matches otherwise perfectly and the old school label is not my concern but rather that it will look out of place.

I think it might look odd when worn with thicker lace like torchon, but you can always just try it and see if it works. It could look better in actuality than in theory.
Generally speaking though I try to avoid tulle lace as much as possible, mostly because I don't like the way it looks. Torchon, cluny, venice and eyelet are my personal favorites, in old school or otherwise.

I'm usually favoring those too but I impulse bought the apron and realised I don't have anything with tulle lace in my wardrobe in suitable color. The lace detailing is quite plain so it could work. I guess it could be altered but to be honest that would be too much hassle due it's delicate material. However, it's very pretty and despite the lace I think it suits few of my old school dresses well.

I personally dislike tulle lace (I think it looks tacky) and I wouldn't mix it with oldschool pieces, but it depends what its like, if its a very small amount it could look fine, but if its wide and patterned (like ap's custom lace with sweets/donuts etc) it will look out of place

That's awesome! That's about what I paid for my sets. Honestly most early GLBs should be 200yen or less each. I'm really glad I bought the early ones, seeing the number of bangless looks, and the old makeup styles (thin eyeliner unless it's gothic, light lipgloss, one or two colors of eyeshadow...) plus there's plenty of gothic and aristocrat. It's really nice to flip through!

Depends on the dress and generally the style you are going for. However, I would suggest you wear a small one always to avoid dresses to look sad and deflated. You can definitely get away with small poof in old school but you have take the whole outfit into consideration.

Usually you just have to scroll through, there isn't really a tag for it. If you sort by price, lots of times they'll be at the cheap end due to age and condition. Also, Cornet didn't last long enough for new school and I've found good pieces from that brand specifically.

So I guess this is the best place to ask, but I bought this OP off of y!Japan back in January. The only info I could find on it was this lolibrary link which is a different cut, and doesn't even have this color as listed.

It's pretty weird as it is a flocky print on top of flannel. I have never ever seen a dress before this one made out of flannel. What other weird material have you seen older items being made with? I also bought a skirt from Meta that is furry pink leopard print material. It's really cute but again I've never seen another Lolita item made with this type of material. But maybe it's just because it is meta and that's just what meta does.

Also has anyone else ever found and bought an undocumented(on lolibrary/hellolace) piece of brand before? What brand was it?

And here is my furry Meta leopard skirt. It also has a bustle in the back with a big bow tied to hold it up. I have no clue on the year or anything. Here is just the front. I tried to take a photo of the bustle in the back but because of the pattern, it all kind of camouflages itself and you can't really tell what you're looking at in the photo. It's really cute and I can't wait to find a fun quirky way to coordinate it.

That is really neat! You should post some if you have the chance! I see a lot of no-name Meta pieces from time to time on the Japanese market that I'd love to pick up! I just really love the old school aesthetic. Sax can white coords were always my favorite and thankfully those are the colors that pop up most! I always feel like a treasure hunter discovering the hidden treasure from a map any time I come across old unidentifiable brand pieces! This is so awesome Thankyou! I hope I can do this dress justice when I get around to wear it! The shirring on the dress makes it more high waisted then some of my other Meta pieces in the same cut. It's also really short, so I'm going to have to find a lighter/smaller petri to go under it, or I guess just forego one all together. It looks alright without one, I just like having a small amount of poof even with oldschool
