Kigurumi General. Post Kigurumi stuff here.

I'm trying to purchase pic related, however the website that I found the best deal for it is on "2kigu.com". I'm wondering if anyone has purchased from there before, and if it is legit. There are lots of products but no product reviews. Their customer service line calls to a chinese speaking automated message.

I need this Kigurumi within 3 weeks, anyone know of anywhere I could purchase this?

>> No.9108755

>>9107183
you won't get it in 3 weeks from China. Kigus aren't super hard to make, you could knock it out in a day of sewing.

I ended up finding an alternative seller with expedited shipping and website that's not fishy as all hell.

But now you have me curious-- What's the average material cost of a kigurumi anyway? I'd consider myself pretty good at designing stuff, I figure I could probably make a buck or two making some of these.

different annon, but last year, I bought 1. It was roughtly 75$ for an animal kirugumi and i think 90$ for a liscenced character

I work at craft store, and have also considered making a few of my own. If you're using fleece it's usually $5-$8 a yard and you'll probably need several yards. That plus some accessories can definitely be $50 or less if you look in the right places.

There's also tons of free patterns and tutorials online to get you started.

How lame would it be to wear a Pokemon kigu out for a Pokemon Go trek? In my city there's a ton of people crowded downtown for Pokemon Go, and I thought it would be a cute idea going around the poke stops dressed Pokemon kigu, but seeing kigus outside of a home or at cons is kind of strange. I'm conflicted.

It's ok if you're an attractive woman under the age of 25.
Do not do it if you're fat.
Do NOT do it if you're a man.

Does it have snaps to take off the yellow "wing flaps?" If it doesn't I think making it yourself would be the better option so you could include those.

The flaps also look like they'll end up dragging on and/or brushing the ground if you were to put your arms all the way down. If that happened it could become a potential hazard on something like an escalator. If you made yourself you could prevent those problems.

if you're that tall you're going to run into different problems with kigurumi, namely being the legs/arms won't be long enough

How much fleece do you guys tend to use for a kigu? I figure 3 meters for the main body, but would 1 meter be okay for the belly?

I used a little under 4 for the body of mine and 1 for the belly and ears, but mine was mostly one color.

I love my kigu, it's been way too warm here recently for me to wear them though. Recently decided to commission an Opossum one. Really looking forward to it.

It should. They're meant to be baggy so you should still be fine.

>>9108762
It's usually about 4 yards of fleece, a pack of buttons, and some thread. On a good sale/coupon you could get it all for under $30. They're really easy to make. I've done a Banette, Gengar, and Shiny Mew. I started a summer Raichu but never finished it.

Same anon, just got my kigu today! In the legs it sits like a baggy pair of capris, but the arms are long enough to not look stupid. I'm OK with this, looks fine to me. Baggy enough even though its a bit short.
