A lot of 'bad cosplay' just looks like beginning amateur sewing projects which is fine, better to learn while making something wearable and useful and amateur cosplay for fun is really well, fun.
But getting the idea that fairly unskilled sewists are going to make anything really good until they practice quite a bit or even take a class or 2 is unrealistic. Has OP never seen anything like theatre costume or historical garments similar to Snow White's costume design? If she thinks her design is so good, let her enter a few competitions and hear the judge's critiques.
I'm not sure why she thinks she should be invited to cons though if she's never won competitions, given panels etc.

Her weight is only relevant in how much it throws off the proportions and lines of that dress. That's not fat-shaming, that's just an unfortunate fact of scale and proportion in sewing for plus size. I agree, this is not very well done in this case. Also very short gloves, the hair and tiara are quite incorrect and necklace is missing. I can't see the waist detail well enough to judge.

I did it really quickly but essentially on a copied layer I selected her skin and motion blurred it (not what I normally do, normally I'd smudge and then mess with opacity instead of blur and use masks), and then set that layer on something like 20% opacity but really just adjust until it looks 'right' and then spot smudge/clone stamp where needed

Except the craftmanship is garbage. Look at the hemming on the green in the skirt - it's lifting and pulling away inconsistently. There's pulls where one pickup swoops alongside her skirt. Tiana's skirt should be a full, rounded ballgown/bell shape, not a derpy A-line with a top skirt too tight for the (inadequate) hoops she's wearing. The way it's laying over the hoops suggests either zero or severely lacking petticoats. All of which, except for the shit hemming, is attributable to how fat she is and not being able to buy a set of hoops that fits her and making a proper petticoat.

And her gloves aren't the right length.

Vivian is associated with GamerGate, and while there is some negativity spread around because it's GG, it doesn't mean 1) it's actually bad 2) that anyone that is irl will care 3) that anyone that recognizes the character will come after you. Friends have cosplayed as her in SF and SJ no issue, no bad juju if you're not throwing it in tumblr's face.
