I'm not trying to stop anyone carrying them, and I'm aware that they don't have the same weirdness in the West as they do in Japan, but at least the people carrying them around should be aware of what they're doing. Randos get shown in street snaps precisely because they're edgy and childish, and lolita fashion at its roots is linked to kawaii as a rebellious counter culture, hence the over-dressyness and the childish things. It's one thing to wear whatever you want and be accepting of a fetishist who knows where to draw the lines, it's a whole other thing to bury your head in the sand and pretend a lot of the history behind lolita doesn't exist. They don't go away just because you're in denial, you just look ignorant while denying it.

I don't think it's so much that people are accepting, but rather your case basically boils down to you typing out "I heard him say this", while being anon, on a board that's known for trolls, most of which would be happy to start rumours for shiggles. It isn't really believable unless you come back with screencaps or some other more substantial proof.

The randoseru just confuses the issue. If you read the comments again you'll see that anons don't even care about this guy, they just want to shout loudly that they like randoserus and want to carry randoserus around. They don't care whether or not your guy is a fetishist, they only care about randoseru.

Lolitas have shunned and ostracised those who were into the fashion as a fetish, but generally the fetishists were very out there and open about their fetish, eg -- posting meetup photos to dollification sites, talking to underage girls about underwear, etc etc. If you guy simply hasn't done anything that crossed the line, they'll likely continue being okay with it as it doesn't actually threaten their safety or wellbeing. People are people after all, it's not like lolitas themselves don't have sex or their own kinks, the difference is whether this person knows where to draw the line in making others feel unsafe or creeped out.

Randoseru (ransel) are based off the rucksack styles that originated in the west, which were meant to be bags in general, not just for children.

The most common type of randoseru in Japan is the traditional shape you can see in Sutiblr's photos, which became part of the "uniform" for elementary school children. In Japan, they are associated with children. Because of that, you often see them used as a fetish symbol along with recorders in lolicon/shotacon works.

However, there also exists bags in the randoseru category that are just meant to be bags. They don't share the shape used by schoolchildren.
