It still is really off. The corset is the wrong color and shape, the boots are entirely wrong, the skirt has no ruffles, the shirt is wrong (did you seriously just put a normal longsleeve top off of your shoulders?), the pigtails are too low. This looks like closet cosplay to be honest.

Not terrible if it's a first or second attempt at cosplay, but otherwise, I'm calling vendetta, too.

I got the sweater at good will, made the socks and skirt. First time making either of those. I really need a photoshoot of my updated Velma with actual matching socks to that same sweater. I had to dye the socks for it. And then I had actual shoes now and a better skirt. I really loved this cosplay, but at the same time was disappointed with myself for it not being as accurate as possible to the actual character. The skirt especially.

Ahahaha this is actually my first time making a full set of armor, and I learned a lot in the process. Used a lot of old kamui tutorials, specifically the one where she covered EVA wedges with gold lycra for the filigree on her Alexstrasza costume.
I'm never doing that again, and will opt for paint/primer next time but I still liked how it turned out.
I didn't enter any competitions or anything since this was purely for my own enjoyment, as Tyrande has been a dream cosplay of mine for a while.

Your make-up is really nice and smooth, but i have some nitpicks, you face looks a bit flat and your eyelashes stand out from being white, which light grey shading/contouring could really fix along with a very small amount of mascara. And then i think your eyebrows are too high up, making them and your whole look not seem intimidating (but people can't really help the shape of their eyebrows)

gosh thanks so much!! the location was fun to shoot at but the castle is at the edge of a high cliff, and it was REALLY windy up there so we had trouble getting a good shot. you can kind of tell from this pic how windy it was, though this one's probably my least favorite from the shoot because i'm making a dumb face and you can see all the issues with the bodice of the dress that i mentioned before.

also not pictured: all the children who were running around and wanted to take pictures of me, and the one little girl who told her mom to "look at the princess!" and then hid behind her mom's legs out of shyness it was so cute

It seems that outside of the people who followed it while it aired on /a/, very few people watched Samumenco. Thank you, that cut out had me stressing so much both in the planning/making stages and while wearing it. There's beading around the bottom of the sleeves, although they are one of the things I want to re-do if I wear the costume again.

for the barbed wire I bought a bunch of electric cable and twisted two pieces together unevenly. then secured parts with strong double sided tape.

Barbs are strips of aluminium (?) paper i found lying around and secured to the double sided tape with hot glue since hot glue doesnt stick to electrical cable at all.

then spray painted grey. After it dried I hand painted it all brown.

I use powdered cinnamon and apply it using spray on clear paint (doesnt matter whether its acrylic or enamel). I then usually add some paint details on top of the cinnamon with shades of oranges/purple. I seal all of it with clear auto enamel primer so there's no smell and it doesn't attract ants.

I loath the look of sub dye in the place of good spandex applique. People keep using sub dye in an effort to add realism and dimension but I find that they actual look flat and grossly cartoony (not in a comic-y good way but in a lack of depth way) when used for most super hero costumes.

The only reason that looks so terrible, is because the subdye pattern was shaded terribly, and then sewn together in such a way that it doesn't line up. Similarly, you can have really bad applique that would also look like shit.
This same argument has been had with Worbla, 3D printers, certain types of fabrics, different kinds of foam, paints, and petty much everything else you can think of. It's not the material, or the method that is bad. It is only ever the person making it. If they suck at it, or half-ass it, then it will look half-assed.

Ill try to put this nicely but you may want to get a more accurate skirt (with a houndstooth pattern) and wig needs to be more red brown. The clips ons arent even the same colour as the base even if you do stay with this one. Additionally you need to cut the bangs, they look like they've just been parted to one side.

It was a mix, one of the judges was a random fat woman that gave a lot of money to the organization, it seems that she liked frozen A LOT and that info must have been leaked because I counted 3 Elsas out of just 20 cosplayers

I made a 1,5mx,6m gunship, a planet zebes with an explosion on the back, i even made a huge botwoon manequim with 3 articulated parts, a baby metroid and a mother brain, my presentation was based on super metroid btw.
No one in the audience recognized anything from my presentation, just that "robot" from smash bros called samus.

Elsa lifted a cardboard castle and had a change of corset while a spanish version of "Let it go" was sounding... she had help from 5 assistants on the stage, and the contest rules said "only a max of 2".

On the second day there was this election where people voted with their tickets for their favorite cosplay, and i won. But those 5 or 10 points weren't enough...

One of the judges was an FX expert and at the end of the con he was arguing loudly with the fat woman about the results.

I loved the people's reactions to my costume, it was a very long time since the last time i cosplayed and I missed that feeling.
