My mail from a few threads ago arrived. Sadly I have no camera but I can give a verbal review of these two dresses.

Doris Night: Sailor Era JSK: Really surprised, the fabric is a very nice thick matt chiffony like texture, a little see through but seems really strong but light. The gold lace is really thick/metallic. I got it in the black, its bigger than advertised so its a little roomy specially under the arms it gapes a bit. Came with extra set of waist ties for some reason.

Elena Garden: Sailing to the Wondeland: I got this custom sized, and the size is perfect, the length and everything I asked for spot on. The black to white fade on the fabric is much more subtle, and more of a grey to lighter grey, but the dresses fabric is nice and soft. The main gripe I have with this is the top layer of the skirt section, its a sperate piece that wraps around/tie on over the top of the dress itself, and its a really thick shiney easily creased poorly sewn mess. Im not sure what to call the fabric but its the thick stuff used for petticoats.
luckily its not attached, Im opting to make my own replacement.

Thank you for the advice, I actually found an old livejournal post about DHL vs EMS in my country (UK) and discovered that EMS over here means Parcelforce, which are the absolutely most shit. They left my brother's piano stool behind a bush in the field next to our house, didn't tell us, and it was there for 2 months before a neighbour found it (their dog had just pissed on it and everything). I can't really wait so I'm going for DHL and will risk customs rather than bush + dog piss combo.

I don't know if anyone cares, but sometimes I see people asking around about granny boots. These are "victorian 35" boots from Funtasma. They're just costume shoes I think, but I just got them today and they're actually pretty nice. I would definitely get from Amazon though from any of the places that have them on sale, or any other seller that has them for under $40 since even though I like them, I wouldn't pay any more than that for them. When they came out of the box I thought they might be slightly too small or a bit uncomfortable but I tried them on and they feel great. I'll have to see if they remain comfortable after wearing them for a long period of time but from some of the reviews on Amazon other people seem to say they remain pretty comfortable as well.

So if you guys are looking for a cheap pair of victorian/grandma type boots, here you go. They also sell them in a slightly longer style (victorian 120 boot) and one where the front part of the boot that goes up your leg is pointed and the body has like lace on it called Dame-115. I've seen a handful of people use the gold ones in CDC coords, though the lace is a bit cheap-looking.

Got mostly everything on this picture. I'm really happy with it. Anon who asked for review on the choker or the navy headbow (I think) - the choker is pretty well made and looks like the picture, I really like it. The headbow is stunning but sadly doesn't match CDC as it's a little lighter than CDC's navy.

Depends what you want to wear underneath and what your body shape is like. The bust on the L might be marginal, but the waist on the XL will be big on you. In my experience, 3 cm under is safe for a fitted dress with a thin blouse assuming that your body shape matches the dress (for example, if you have larger boobs than the dress is cut for then even if you're under the measurements you might expect boobloaf), but 5cm under is "safe".

The quality's pretty good, only thing I don't like as much is how the ruffles don't lay as flat as the earlier releases' did, but a pass under an iron should fix that.

The sizing is a tiny bit larger than what they had listed, and compared to the 2012 release (I only have that as reference, sorry), the floral fabric has a lighter weight and a less pronounced raised pattern.

coincidentally decided to take a look at this thread this evening! I got bad news about that dress. It's a brown print on white fabric and the fabric easily gets runs at every seam so white lines will show up all over the place eventually.
I bought one and it's such a shame it's so cute otherwise
