posting micro-reviews of cheap shit I've bought

>bee hairpins
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131525284744
really cute! one of the ones I got came with a snapped off leg, that's what you get with free shipping though.

>dim sum hair tie
http://www.ebay.com/itm/252013077918
nice thick tie. the plastic portion is only secured with hot glue, however.

>cutesy facemasks
http://www.ebay.com/itm/271832334268
don't have that much stretch to them; the mask part itself has virtually no give at all. printing is clean and the fabric is pretty thick.

>cat shorts
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231521056221
elasticized waist but it'll dig into you unless you're super skinny. construction is fine but the cat faces will start to fade within a few washes. pockets are existent but very small.

>long lace overlay skirt
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400900600360
actual skirt portion is pretty short, so beware if you got a booty. looks really cute with those platform sandals that are popular nowadays.

>crochet trim denim shorts
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231006692002
the ruffle at the bottom won't look as cute (I got the lighter pair and they're exactly as they appear in the photo). you can try to iron it down but obviously it won't have the same shape. still cute though.

>knockoff sailor moon skirt
http://www.ebay.com/itm/141600944229
okay quality. the printing is a little off up-close (it's not super opaque). minor note about the lace accents at the waist: they're off-white, not pure white.

>those korean rabbit hair ties
http://www.ebay.com/itm/121741715915
I always get mine for pennies on auction. they're all really cute and nice quality for what you're paying for them.

>satin ribbon hair ties
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400828802139
I fully expected a cheap ribbon lopsidedly tied onto a hair tie when I got for like 50 cents on auction, but the ribbon is actually decent quality, no fraying ends, and secured to the tie itself so it doesn't go sliding around.

Could you post pictures of the cat shorts? They look cute in the listing.

I just got this http://www.ebay.com/itm/331582744042
The material actually feels nicer than I was expecting. It's kinda see-through, so you'd need something under it. Also I just realized the print is upside down.

For the anon in the last thread asking about legit Korean beauty sellers, I use iamlove-shop and rubyruby76, which is also roseroseshop. I've had good luck with a couple of others but these are the ones I use most frequently, and they tend to add a bunch of samples, too.

The pink jsk is super cute, and I really like it! I wish the straps weren't tie straps, but that's my only complaint. It's a very nice summer/spring dress! I've worn it twice since getting it.

The two right dresses (from bobon21, got secondhand on eBay) are fantastic in literally every single way. They are beautiful, soft, warm and made of really nice material. I'd wear them constantly if it wasn't still hot as balls here.

The blue dress is cute, and rather nice. It's also pretty poofy, but I haven't ironed it yet, so I'm not sure if it'll look nicer after that.

The To Alice lemon skirt I just got, as well. Very cute! I'd recommend all of them, imo, for under/around $25. (Except for the bobon21 dresses, which are totally worth more than $25 quality wise, in my opinion.)

Those I didn't get off of eBay, actually. I just had them in my collage from the mail thread and forgot to remove them.

But, they're on otakumode. They're
"Coroham coron" plushies from amuse. Having two amuse plushies, I'd literally buy every single one of those hamster stuffed animals if I had the money.

Especially the Halloween line they just came out with....which I'm totally also buying. Hamster thirst too strong.

I've a Chanel pencil liner that sucks major balls though, so I'm hoping these'll rise to the challenge.
I got the Black Plum one too! The other one is 18k Gold, good to hear they're creamy enough for smoky eye.
The little shadow trio (and I mean LITTLE, the thing is tiny!) is also plum/purple and I plan to use it with the pencil.
I already have the shadow trio in Honey Orange but the gold and orange parts aren't very pigmented which is a pity. Hoping the gold pencil will be a good replacement.

Wait until the last minute (as in 1:00 left). Put in a bit less than your max. If you're outbid, put in your max. It's risky but this is an interesting item and you might drive the price up by an insane amount if you keep bidding. If your max is way less than 300, bid away but be prepared to lose it. Otherwise just buy now.
>>8612619
You're welcome! I'm sure you already know this, but a word of warning anyway- go for BB cream samples before you buy. It's worth it. I've saved myself a lot of pain this way.
On a slightly related topic, I get the most samples from iamlove-shop and Sing Sing Girl, but that might just be me personally. I also find that these sellers give the widest range of samples, from skincare to makeup, regardless of what you ordered. Good luck with your BB cream!

Update. I spent a good half hour trying to get through the hell that was USPS automated system and it kept telling me customer service wasn't available because my tracking information was up to date so then I called a completely different number and it didn't list my problem in their menu so I kept hitting 0 for customer service and it kept telling me I couldn't have customer service without telling them what my problem was so finally I just blurted out "Missing mail!" and it sent me to customer service just like that...

And then I spent an entire hour waiting to get connected to a customer service person and by then my phone was dying and they closed in 5 minutes so yeah..

A giant waste of my time and I still have no idea what address they delivered my package to that some how managed to be in my little town but yet two hours later.

At this point I pretty much have to wait and see if it shows up in my box tomorrow and if not, start all over again calling USPS to report it missing.

Here's some things I've bought over the past few months. For reference I'm 5'3, I have a 34" bust and 26" waist, and I typically wear around a size 2.
I've linked to the listing if it's still available, or to the seller if the particular item I bought is no longer available.

1. http://www.ebay.com/usr/konomika?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754
Used Liz Lisa Dress
Hasn't arrived yet. It says it's supposed to arrive by tomorrow but it only shipped out yesterday, so we'll see.

2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271791110559?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648&var=570618137304&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
white lace skirt
Hasn't arrived yet, should arrive within the next few weeks.

3. http://www.ebay.com/usr/ling_lam2008?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754
White lace dress
The listing said max bust 33", but I measured and it's more like 31". Otherwise the dress looks very nice. The lace overlay doesn't look too cheap to me which is nice. I've contacted the seller today asking if I can trade for a dress one size up and I'm waiting for a response.

4. http://www.ebay.com/itm/110934430548?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
pink floral skirt
looks just like in the description, it's really cute and fits me pretty well. The belt it comes with is pretty cute too. It's a bit thin but comes with a lining. I'd still probably opt to wear an underskirt or safety shorts underneath, if only because the lining isn't the nicest fabric in the world. It also didn't smell too weird, all things considered.

5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/271902363456?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The bracelet is cute and looks basically like that, but it arrived with one of the links at the end broken and required some repair. It's also a bit small but still comfy and extremely hard to put on yourself. I'm probably going to replace the gold chains with longer ones and replace the elastic in the pearls so I can slip it on and off without having to bother with the latch.

This bracelet is made for pretty small wrists. It fits on my wrist but it's not very comfortable and looks a little stretched out. I'll probably replace the elastic and it should fit much better. Otherwise it's very cute.

7. http://www.ebay.com/itm/361102131235?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Lace socks
these are pretty true to the picture and quite comfy. They fit my feet (I wear about a 7 1/2 women's shoe size but it seems like it'd stretch to fit even larger feet) pretty well. I bought the light purple thinking it might be more of a pink (looked kind of pink on my monitor) but it really is quite lavender colored.

8. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281647660206?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Ruffle Safety Shorts
Really good quality for the price. The lining is made of pretty cheap feeling material but the lace itself looks really nice.
I accidentally fell asleep wearing these and the lace tore a bit in the inner leg. It's not too noticeable, so I don't mind it, but the lace is somewhat fragile in certain places, just to warn you. The lining felt really tight at first, but I just pulled on the leg holes (I heard threads snapping but didn't find any noticeable damaged hems afterwards) and it felt much better. I'm still procrastinating on the laundry so I don't know how it will hold on in the wash.

9. http://www.ebay.com/itm/131225297228?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
strawberry shirt
The print is a bit low quality. It looks kind of blurry up close, like the image was blown up too big. But it's not super noticeable from far away, especially with the water color looking design, so it doesn't bother me. It's also several sizes too big for me. I'm probably going to take it in a few inches at some point in the near future.

My alien skull sweater arrived today. Someone in another thread said theirs was really stiff with paint and some other things but mine seems to be alright after I've washed it?

There's still a tiny bit of stiffness with the paint but it's not that noticeable and it's not as baggy on me as I'd like (especially on the arms) but that's probably because I'm not a tiny Asian girl and I need to lose some weight. I'm just super excited that it's long on me and that the arms are long enough for mine. Usually it's hell trying to find long sleeve shirts for me that aren't up past my wrists.

Also the fabric is on the thin side (sports bra straps are pretty visible) but the fabric is soft and comfortable. No loose threads or anything.

Overall, it's pretty good for only $7.50

I think maybe if you were seriously straining at the fabric (bending over with your butt out, taking the seams to the max, etc), you might get a silhouette of your underwear underneath, but if you're just walking about normally and they fit as they should (relatively loosely), I don't think you'd be able to see much.

I just got mine today, overall pretty decent quality for what I payed (about $13). They run small-even though the measurements on the listing said 90cm for the bust, its more like 80cm, so I can't close it (I'm 85cm). Shoulders are also small for me (40cm on the listing, true to size, and I barely fit into it)
I've read reviews that some don't come with tails, mine came with one unattached that you just need to pin it on. Also it shows a white inner ear part in the product pictures, but on mine they just sewed a square piece of fluffy white fabric in the middle for some reason. It was relatively easy to remove. The stitching around the black closures ran over into the coat part so there's random black threads against the pink of the coat (I cut most of them off). I can provide pictures if you'd like to see it (post alteration).

Finally received these socks that someone linked in an older thread and figured I'd let everyone know how they are! I'm 5'6" with long legs and they come up just barely past my knees, but my thighs are kind of chubby so they're a little uncomfortable if pulled up to their highest. I really wouldn't recommend these if your legs are any thicker than mine or else i doubt you'd be able to get them over your calves. as for the quality they seem really sturdy, probably best for colder weather as they're pretty thick. I'm really sorry if this isn't allowed, but I recently received a shitty wig from ebay seller lolitagirl_us and I wanted to let you guys know to avoid it/them.

>http://www.ebay.com/itm/Light-Brown-70cm-Curly-Party-Long-Lolita-Women-Girl-Cosplay-Hair-Wig-With-Cap/252094327949?_trksid=p2046732.c100040.m2060&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107095009%26meid%3D255ab633f7234d6ab67fdc5d9db95072%26pid%3D100040%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D140976073962

is what I bought. I didn't think it could be too bad, obviously it was pretty cheap but when it got here I couldn't be more disappointed. It's DARK brown and I can see the netting of the cap everywhere, it's so goddamn thin. It's shiny as fuck and frizzy, not curly. I shouldn't have expected much, and I probably should have gotten something that I knew would be better quality, but I am on a time crunch.

I can use baby powder for the shine, but does anyone know how to tame the frizz and help with the thinness? I have motions sheen pray, if that helps. Thanks for listening to my butthurt rant, I hope I saved anyone some trouble.

Damn son. I never spend more than $9 on eBay wigs I get in auctions and I've gotten some damn good ones that way. Maybe give auctions a shot? Also I've noticed the USA sellers for wigs tend to be pretty shit. All the wigs I've gotten through auctions from USA sellers have either been thin or super shiny. Now I just avoid them.

I've never had to send a wig back when filing a claim. Usually they just refund me and that's that, especially if I'm filing a claim because the wig is shit. If they offer you a replacement, decline. You'll either get a shit replacement or they'll claim to have sent it and never do.

When it comes to wig auctions, you don't even know what you're getting when you spend $10-25 on an ebay wig either so it just makes more sense to me to gamble on a $5 wig than a $15 wig with the same stock image because all those stock images are taken from Taobao.

If that's all you see then you're not doing it right. Highest I've seen is the all too expensive price of $9 and that's on harajuku fashion wigs.

It only really works if you're in it to resell. If you're in it just to get wigs for yourself, you're going to be really disappointed because you'll be hesitant to bid on the off chance the stock image doesn't meet the reality of what you get.

If you're just getting wigs for yourself, I'd probably switch from ebay to Amazon where they have cheap prices and ratings you can rely on.

The sticky notes are all really cute and look exactly like the pictures. However, none of them are very sticky. I write notes on them and stick them on my monitor, the Totoro ones seem to hang on best, but i think you you move it they would lose most of their stickiness. Some of the smaller ghost ones fall off almost immediately, some stay there. The rabbit ones stick on fairly well but the non-sticky end leans away from the monitor. I don't think any of them would be great for anything that moves (like as page markers, for example), but if you just want to stick them to something and leave them they might be fine.

The hats are really sweet! They are definitely children's ones (I bought them for a friend who has had a baby). They are too big for babies but quite small, so i would say toddlers maybe? The ones i received were dyed nicely instead of the colour being painted on top. they were a bit squished as they were folded in the package, but they are fine if you open them up and stretch them back into shape.

Thanks!

Heads up to everyone who doesn't do International shipping when you sell on eBay.

>son of bitch
>spent 20 minutes figuring out how the hell it did that
>Hey Anon! So glad you signed up for Global Shipping Program!
>the fuck I did
>motherfucking eBay auto-signed me up for international shipping

it's too late to take off international shipping for my auction since someone bid already but I set the country exception thing to max so it doesn't ship outside the USA... even if my listing still says it does. That and I edited it to say "Hey no international shipping no matter what dumbass ebay says sorry"

So yeah, warning everyone now. Go to Account Settings - Site Preferences - Shipping Preferences and make sure under Shipping you opted out of the Global Shipping Program. If your listing is marked as being part of the global shipping program, or if you log out of your account and it says something like 'international tracking and customs provided' when you view your listing then you're fine. The Ebay GSP is a separate charge from the item, and Ebay will calculate the charge and collect it when the buyer checks out.

So if an international bidder wins your listing and you're part of the GSP, you ship for free to the GSP depot and that's the end of your responsibility. Ebay handles the charge and admin for the GSP.

eBay buyers are the worst. I sold 6 items recently. 3 items were paid for quickly. 1 item was bought by someone who didn't read the description and needed a refund because they bought an item that was not compatible with their gaming device. 1 item was bought by someone from overseas who BIN'd and THEN asked if I would ship it overseas for the cost of shipping within my own country. So I had to cancel that transaction too. 1 more item was bought by someone who appears to be a chronic non-payer with a few paid for items sprinkled in, so I had to open an unpaid item case. And eBay are assholes and try to sneakily overcharge you on everything. Ugh.

You can also tell him to search for clothing on eBay using the preowned/used tag. Lots of nice brands will be marked down significantly, and a lot of the time you can see user photos of the clothing.

Fuck that's a pain. I've been there. Descriptions tell you what the damn product is. (Not on ebay, but kinda related- I was thinking about selling a few antiques not long ago, and the person who wanted to buy them actually asked if they were pre-used. They were from the 1850s. Hell if I know, but they're old enough not to be new. This uncertainty made the buyer change their mind, because 'I don't want anything used'.)

Oh fuck antique people can be the worst. I work the local antique show with my dad every year and I had this guy who kept bugging me on a $10 basket.
"Well what's the history" It was in my aunt's house. It's old. "But what's the history how long did she have it" I don't know a long ass time she was 86 and it could of been her moms "Hmm well $10 is a little high" Fucker it's a antique basket that isn't fucked up in the least.
He bought it from me and left- only to come back 30 minutes later "did you figure out the history on the basket yet?"
We also had a lady up from the bay who bought a lamp for $10 off my dad's friend "Well it it doesn't work I want to bring it back" You're going to spend $40 if not more in gas to return a lamp?!

I just received this! I'm happy with it - it's your standard school bag. Factory smell went away quickly and it seems fairly sturdy. I have one small-ish textbook, a tablet, a notebook, and some clear files in there and there's plenty of room left. One sad note is that my water bottle (~25cm circumference) doesn't fit into the built-in sleeve inside, but I know it's on the larger side. Honestly, my only problem is that I can't decide on how to place my dumb lil buttons.

I once looked at a cream colored Malco Modes(I forgot the number, but you can get it on amazon) at an antique store, and it was for sale for 200 dollars. I politely brought it up to the owner that one could be purchased new for 60 dollars, and she said "Oh, but this one I know is from the 30s, and I happen to know that the women who purchased this antique originally for 600 dollars! It's a steal at my price!"

Yeah, a steal... of money. I am sure that the number on the petticoat was either in the 200s or 500s. Why would a company in the 30s be making numbers that high, whent he company was started in the 30s?

There are a few shops that only sell that sort of stuff but honestly they're a bit of a rip off, you can find the same things cheaper on aliexpress or taobao. Ebay is better for finding bargain pieces here and there, and using keywords/searches to find auctions instead. Try terms like "harajuku" "amo" "japanese fashion" etc. I'll link some shops you might want to check out though, happy shopping!

A petticoat made from delicate fabrics from before WW2 is going to be slightly less useful than a brand new one. And if they priced it at six hundred dollars, during the Depression, they were fucking insane. I think it's fair to say that 10-20 dollars would be too low for Crazy Antiques Lady and she priced it at 10x the sane amount hoping that some poor sap would be lured in by the history and blinded by the extortionate price the first owner totally paid.
Seriously, you can get nearly complete sets of antique clothes from the 1850s onwards for that amount, why the hell would anyone spend it on a single damn petticoat?

They just came in. The powder brushes really are ridiculously soft. Everything else doesn't seem too bad, actually. The fabric is very weirdly textured (kind of like waffle knit) from the tie dye/bleaching I think. It'll probably relax with wear though. I'm 5'2" for reference. I suggest buying a haori hanger to prevent wrinkles/creases also. If you have any questions about sizing (or suggestions on styling) let me know. IMO it looks good with neutral solid colors under it so the haori is the focus. Sorry for the wall of text, hope it helps!

Spent 15 minutes on the phone with a very nice woman from customer service. Apparently the coupon will be sent out within 2 weeks so now I play the waiting game. She did confirm that I will be receiving it though!

Link to the blue stone/moon necklace? That would be perfect for a coord I'm planning.

What kind of craft sale is it? This is all cute stuff, hope it goes well for you!

I use the term craft sale loosely since it's more of a mix of craft/bake/holiday sale. It's at the local fire station on the day of their Thanksgiving/Christmas parade and you basically pay $40 for a table and just sell stuff. I'm splitting the table with my mother. She's selling her local photography and also selling jewelry with me. Thanks so much for the vote of confidence because it's both our first time selling at this sort of event. All our stuff is going to be priced under $10 so here's to hoping.

are all about a dollar each listing, and some of them have more than 1 piece. Search P&P lowest first and you'll get a bunch of cheap stuff. Use different keywords- kawaii sticker and korean scrapbook sticker and harajuku and all that, it'll give you more options. Most of them have free shipping too, so your dollar sheet of stickers won't end up being 5 dollars in the end. Hope this helps you find what you're looking for.
