I want to see interesting, "out there" coords. Debate about whether or not a coord is a specific substyle, or even lolita at all, is encouraged. You can also post if you're not sure where an outfit falls on the lolita spectrum.

It seems like it's an old/outdated argument because no one wears it anymore, but I actually liked the mix of gothic and some cyber fashion. Only when it was darker and more monochrome, though. Was not a fan of the sweeter mixes.

I love mixing cyber elements with lolita, but i never dared to try it to not look ita or trashy. I love pastel dreads with sweet and spiky accs/masks but doing something more gothic and less flashy is way harder.A good combo would be black with silver elements.

I used to see this get posted in dolly kei threads a lot, but personally I think it mostly falls into that 'art lolita' niche that briefly flared up around here some months ago in relation to dolly kei and shironuri's rising popularity, discussion over whether JetJ was "really/still lolita" or not, and a sudden bunch of of spreads in magazines that covered a similar idea. Basically as the OTT boom was changing over from sweet to classic. Think also not-quite-lolita stuff like KiraKiraShoten and TripleFortune's dresses.

i think cyber lolita tends to look shitty because those styles are simply too different. they use very different color palettes and put emphasis on different parts of the silhouette as well, which means the end result often ends up being so unbalanced it looks goofy as fuck.
i agree with you about the monochrome part, though. at least it gets rid of the color problem...

Lor would look so much better if she just found wigs that flattered her face a little more. We have similar facial features, and I find that 95% of straight-blunt wigs don't look good on me and make my nose look like 99% of my face, but more choppy ones do. I love this dress though, I just bought it in green and am trying to figure out how to coordinate it...

That's why it looks better with gothic. The style elements can cross over more easily because, well, cybergoth is a thing and gothic lolita is a thing, so in a sense they're like cousin styles. Moreso than cyberpunk would be for sweet. I think even the coord in your photo is trying too much to go in a sweet direction to work out well.

I'd like to see a little more pops of red or white on this (maybe a red plaide hairbow with white lace or even red shoes) but this is pretty cute. Hair is perfect. Punk always gets hate though.

Nitpick but also I'm not a fan of the pv belt when everything else is low-shine pleather.

I think this is lovely, but the print looks so tacky with the corset, I think a solid color would work better. Also maybe less shine on the corset? Or a different color? Maybe I'm just salty. I really love the silhouette and everything but the print.
