We're 10 days away! Will the schedule ever be released? Lolita meet is on day 1!

>> No.8575389

My friend and I didn't buy badges this year but we're thinking of stopping by to visit AA and hang out in the park. Saturday would probably be the best day to visit, right? In terms of cosplay-spotting and weeb-watching.

>> No.8575401

Wish I could be there; I'm outa the country until 3 days before.

>> No.8575426

>>8575389
Yeah, Saturday is typically the best day

>> No.8575429

Seattlite here, is it even worth it to travel down for this con? I'll probably attend for one day and just drive there and back. Panels aren't really something I care about, but exhibitors/AA, dances and the general atmosphere/people are.

I always have a lot of fun at Kumoricon!

I think I've outgrown Kumoricon, this will probably be my last year there.

>> No.8575560

>>8575548
I'm struggling with this too. It was truly baby's first con for me and I enjoyed it over the years, but last year just wasn't as fun. I think the 4 day deal hurt it for me, and odd decisions like an outdoor artists' alley don't help either.

I'm not completely giving up though! I'll still maintain faith that it'll somehow appeal to me again, and sometime soon.

>> No.8575570

>>8575560
It's more that less and less of my friends are going, and the content isn't really good enough for me to continue going with all the kids running around. I feel bad saying that, but it's true. Kumoricon is often the only con that unemployed tumblrites or kids in school with a small allowance can afford. Also yeah, I'm really upset that the AA this year isn't secured whatsoever, doesn't require a badge to get in, doesn't have any protection so people get sunburns trying to make their money back and having to pack up ALL their stock every day. I feel bad for my artist friends, definitely going to support who I can to counteract that.

Kumo's fucking *venerable* by this point. As long as the local hamsteaks and tumblr kiddos need a place to congregate, it's not dying.

>>8575548
Yeah, I went with some friends last year and it just felt weird, like the median age was 16 or 17.
Also it doesn't help that you can replicate most of Kumoricon by dressing up and getting jeered at by white trash in the park.

>> No.8576560

>>8576496
Holy shit you're right. At least the hobos are nice sometimes. I got to pet someone's kittens one year, gave them a buck for food. But seriously, I'm going out of state or to PAX at least, Kumori just is 'meh' to me now. Feel bad that I can't back out at this point after realizing I just wanted a con to go to and paying most of my fees for the event.

>> No.8576575

Worst year yet. Rave was a disaster. Teenyboppers before 12, volume got cranked after 12. Tons of bad cosplays, haven't yet seen a well done elborate one yet. First year i've actually seen and heard actual aspies in large amounts. The one rock band only played 4 songs in the hour they had reserved.

Lot going wrong so far. If it doesn't step up, this'll be my last year.

There were two Christian guys, one spouting off..or at least trying to with all the cosplayers dancing around and Deadpool twerking on him from behind. He kept smirking because he could not keep serious the entire time with everything going on. He apparently was following cosplayers, made a little girl cry by yelling that she would go to hell, and was just making people uncomfortable.

Someone called the cops on him, then he came back an hour or two later to spout more. People were following him around with cameras because apparently he was pushing cosplayers around? Then some homeless guy with bongos slapped his henchman/Cry for God guy in the balls, did a bongo solo and beautifully gallivanted down the road while ChristianDude called the cops on HIM. Anyone going to RCCC this weekend? I went last year and was a little bored, what are some cool things to do there?

I'm skipping it to have money for Newcon this year

I heard it's definitely happening this year, someone said it was closed down, but that got stomped out

I feel awful for the contest winners that have waited so long for their awards.

Barring an actual natural disaster and/or Mike literally fucking off with all the money to a country with Swiss-style banking laws and no U.S. Extradition treaty, the con is gonna happen come hell or high water. A lot of shit is apparently already paid for, at least in part.

Whether or not there's a Newcon 2017 is another thing entirely, but 2016 is definitely going to at least make a valiant attempt at working out.

Assuming the remaining directors don't quit. Another one left the other day. I think they are down to three.

Just a little worried when one of the AD's was hell bent on sticking it out and telling people that they were going to do their best to make the con happen a few weeks prior then suddenly quits.

>> No.8613393

>>8613389
But all that aside. I am hopeful, I am just going to get my badge at con rather than pre-reg

But back to kumo, did anyone see the guy bitching about not getting any friends and calling people childish this morning? GOLD.

I see this shit all the time post con and it never ceases to blow my mind that it's always the people who are fat and have poorly put together closet costumes with these kind of egos

They'll learn
Plus, there were like 8 Super Sonico's this con

One was going to wear a bikini, but literally wore an age play onsie most of the day. With feeties, that was obviously too small for her

>> No.8613543

>>8613409

Man, what is it with fat people wearing onesies and kigurumis that are way too fucking small for them at this con? I couldn't believe the sheer number of sausage people stuffed into tiny animal jumpers this year.

>> No.8613592

What was the deal with the kumori ball lighting? I couldn't see shit and some dumbass literally ran over my foot after bumping into several other people.

It would have been okay if It was a kigu, but it was literally a child's onsie

Was it like those footie PJs they used to sell at Target, or was she somehow small enough to fit into an actual child-sized onesie??? That's still pretty wtf either way.

Might as well just not go to Newcon and be like "hey, take this money anyways for nothing". It'll be the same experience at-con.

>> No.8614063

I couldn't tell, it was so small on her that she basically had a camel toe
If it's too cold that you have to wear a onsie to con with a bikin underneath, then wear something else. She looked ridiculous. It was so tight on her it was obviously too small for her
