Didn't see one in the catalog.

Anybody order a lace front from wigisfashion? I recently bought a custom lace front wig from their store, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to get it on time. (I live in the US and need it by mid-September.)

>> No.8550423

WIF is a taobao reseller, right?
Also I was wondering about experience people have had with wigs looking very round on my head. I have a rounded heart face and chubby cheeks, with a moderately big head. Most wig caps fit fine but instead of laying flat my wigs go round and floofy and make my head look like a big turnip. I might post a pic later but I'm very camera shy as my looks aren't terribly great either, which is why wigs aren't helping I think. Without any makeup I just look disgusting with a wig.

I need one as a base for a sakizo cosplay. How much should I expect to pay for one that's of decent quality? Is 90AUD for a 24" wig reasonable (shipping inclusive)?

Anyway, I'm doing this one. Just wanted to go over my plan with you guys to see if you had any better ideas.

I don't have good references (google is giving me thumbnails), because I'm not at home, but I'm doing Parfum de la fascination - Homme - Vampire, and considering doing Afternoon Tea Sweet Potato.

Basically, I've seen people do Vampire without a lace front and it looks awkward as fuck. As for Sweet Potato, I think I'd need a full lace for the base? I've done modified hairlines for wigs before when they had gravity-defying bangs, but I don't like how that looks on wigs that are pulled back into ponytails.

You'll need to buy a wig in the lighter color and then color the upper part black, if that's how you want to do it.

Unless you plan to chew on your wig or something, washing it is unnecessary. Lukewarm water wouldn't remove chemical residue if there were any anyways.
It's also unnecessary to wash out the style every time you've worn it if you're going to style it the same way anyways. The only time you need to wash it is if you want to change the style, if the style gets messed up, or if the wig starts to get dirty/tangled.

(sorry for fly aways everywhere and pins, it was later in the day and windy)

even though it was shotgun near the con, i took a white wire hanger and cut the hook part off, then right in the middle of the longest part. curved them into a tight bend and wrapped the hair around it, then secured it with rubber bands (the kind that are used with braces) and sprayed the heck outta them. on both ends of the wire i made a makeshift hook and attached both of them to the netting of the wig so they stayed secure. i imagine you could attach the hair to the wires better than i did, but again this was kinda close to the con ahah. the wire stayed all day and didn't warp which was nice. it's good your wig looks like it's all one length, the one i used had some layers so i was fighting against fly-aways in the curls all day. good luck!

Context- I have trichotillomania and it's slowly destroying my hair so it's getting to be hard to style it to lolita. I have had treatments in the past so I've managed to cut down the actual pulling but I split my hairs a lot, other things to distract my hands from doing it don't help much, so if I could attach a extension of some kind I'd be able to just split that instead of my real hair.

They will be able to provide quality service and if you ask they may be able to point out the best websites. Look up youtube or visual guides on how to cut a wig - you need to angle the scissors so as not to blunt cut it straight across when you trim up the longer bits. Take it slow and make sure you estimate the length on your own head first, NOT on a wig head. Wig heads are very small in comparison to a real head, so what looks good on there will be way too short on you.

Get a friend to help (or put the wig on their head), or you can put the wig on and mark/clip how short the hair should be in the back. Once you have your mark in place, you can trim it up on the wig head.

For scissors, nah, as long as they're the small, narrow kind for detail work. You can pick up a cheapo pair at any box store.

I'm going to my second con in a few months and want to cosplay Adelie from Space Dandy. While I think I have her clothing figured out, I am totally lost when it comes to her head piece and wig.
The most styling I've ever had to do for a cosplay was trimming/styling the bangs and adding some volume and curl, so this is way beyond my skill level.
I've searched for help and only a kingdom arts thread popped up, so I was wondering if any anons could help.
tl;dr: how should I go about making a wig for this character?

Use a swim cap base and apply it with spirit gum. Look up how to make a Toph (from Avatar the Last Airbender) bun and attach it to the back. And adding clip on bangs or laying wefts over the top of the head would probably work.

Moldable latex. Sand off the roughness, then use spray paint to polish it and color it. I'd say for the tentacle thing that sticks up, you need to build a "tower" type thing and make a wire mesh. Then you can use the latex, and slowly build on it.

I'm struggling with the first wig I ever bough (pic related).
The quality is nice, it feels smooth and soft.
But it's just so... wonky.
Every pin I have under the wig shows. I've got long hair, which doesn't help.
The split on the side looks uneven, too.
Did I buy a bad wig? Is it perhaps too thin?

It's fine. If you just want to sweep the hair back, you'll be able to do that with a lacefront without any wefts showing. Your friend is probably thinking of a non-lacefront wig, which you might have trouble doing this if it's thin and the wefts aren't going in the right direction already.

>fucking hate actually sewing them in

I want to do a pompadour, and I've seen tutorials about making a wire structure and covering it with tape, but any tips for gluing hair to it? How should I do it?

Everything I've seen for gradient dyeing wigs requires a putting darker dyes into lighter wigs, but I feel like these two hues are too similar to get any significant results. Any idea how I should approach this?

I would buy a sky blue wig and dye it with red or wine tint

Is the length necessary? Most Gumi art that I've seen makes those two parts a bit shorter, so you could get away with cutting the ends off.

Purple or blue wig for Remilia? In some pics her hair looks light purple, in some it looks light blue and in some its something in between so idk what wig I should get..

I wasn't really loving the length or the color so I decided to go with an eBay wig. Hopefully it will be nice...

Just use tacky glue anon. It's less stiff and drippy than e6000 and works fine.

Any Epic Cosplay color/style recommendations for Utena? I'm planning on taking advantage of their sale, but I'm torn between princess pink and cotton candy pink and which style would be best for her bangs.

Mmmm my wigs need go be able to withstand multiple washes and restyling so I'd rather use something strong.

I put small amounts e6000 into a plastic baggy and use it like a piping bag, it works amazing and gives you 100% more control. I picked it up from a jewlery lady on youtube

I think princess pink is better. The cotton candy pink seems to have a yellow/orange undertone and Utena doesn't IMO.

out of the wigs from the sale page

I'm thinking this one: (If you are willing to cut in bangs)

Or this one: (a little long and needs to be straightened)

Total wig noob, trying to get a halloween costume together. Want to have a two-tone style like pic related (though it'd be more like blonde and brown), would it be better to buy a nice brown wig and bleach the other side, or dye a blond one?

Does anyone have any suggestions for wigs that could take that kind of stripping/dying?

>> No.8619263

>>8619025
fyi, you can't bleach a wig unless it's human hair. you can only dye wigs, and even then, you can only dye wigs a *darker* color, never lighter.

your best bet would be to just buy one. if you want to dye, dye a blonde wig half brown. another option is to buy two wigs and sew them together

Can someone give me advice on how to style this hairstyle? it's my first time styling spikey wig. I tried to style it, and while the tips of the spikes were neat, they were in general kinda sad and sagged. And if i teased them too much, it would show and look ugly. I also have trouble spiking the hair from the back forward. I'll post a picture of what the base wig looks like if anyone would want, but its an inigo from arda. It has been trimmed a bit, but theres still a lot of hair to work with.

I think it depends a lot on what products you use. I've heard of something called got2be or something that's supposed to be good for wigs
Not sure though, but try googling what products work best for wigs

I found a wig, and I mean it looks like everything I need color, cut, and volume wise. The only thing that worries me is that it might be too shiny, but I found it on one of the links given on the FAQ so... Can I trust the FAQ's judgement? Because it's perfect if it werent for how shiny it looks...

the price seems a bit too good. worst that could happen is that youd have to soak the wig in fabric softener to remove shine.

I'll give it a go, might post results or something if it ends up being as good as it sounds.
