Okay so help a newbie sista out. is this literally just art? I love costume making but I hate anime and these costumes are incredible. I googled around and I'm not missing something am I? Yeah there's such an odd fine line between it? I guess maybe it's different because I think she has also either been a concept artist for, OR released an artbook for one of the Final Fantasy games, so I guess some of her work is "fanart" which is why maybe people cosplay her other designs? idk, I just love her frills <3

Hey anons, I'm thinking of drawing up some fabrics inspired by this artwork, like the tights and stuff. Obviously a few differences because of copyright.
I'd put it up on spoonflower for people to print (and I would set it to non-profit because of copyright again)

Because i for starters want to cosplay some of these things, but the tights always look lackluster in comparison to the rest of the costume, like here >>8537443 because they are stretched and just look bland and faded.

So if you think it's a good idea, or have any requests, give a girl a heads up.

Spoonflower has a few stretch options so it would be cool to see someone make a print for a legging to buy and sew together with an inconspicuous seam down the back.

Hey guys! I posted in a past thread a link with a .rar of a whole bunch of the books - I've since deleted that and changed to a folder of each book so it's easier for people to dl what they don't have, instead of everything all over again. Can I get some opinions? I'm just planning how to make Sapphire's outfit, though I've just looked and where his arm is, he's blocking his middle torso, but if you can see, above the arm seems to be the ruffled undershirt, and below is some kind of buttoned shirt?

They are just fancy, pretty illustrations that the artist creates based on themes or even some "fanart" that she does. They are also a nice challenge for experienced seamstresses and fun to wear. Sometimes you just want to feel fancy, ya know?

However, some people don't necessarily recognize their skill level and take on projects that are too difficult or just are not a flattering design for themselves sooo yea. Sakizo cosplays are a mixed bag.

They're not impossible to make though, so don't feel like you'll never get there. You can always give yourself a rolling deadline so you can slowly work and develop skills while making it. A lot of the design is "embellishment" too so if you can get the base garment constructed well, the rest is really just sitting down with a movie on for background noise or something and just attacking it like doing all the hand-beading or whatever.

I found that the costumes are not necessarily "difficult", just time-consuming as all fuck.

I'm working on sewing machine at the moment, and the wig is giving me issues. I bought a short wig and longer wefts to avoid the top knot attempt but the drill rollers on her head seem weird. They make an arch but I don't think I should stack them like a pyramid, but I don't really know what else to do with it... any suggestions would help.

I love Sakizo's stuff. As a guy who's been around cons and cosplay for ages and is about as jaded as it gets when it comes to "sexy cosplay," good Sakizo cosplay is one of very few things that still catches my attention, both because it's sexy and because it's a great display of costuming skill.

Also, why do you guys always write it "Sakizou" when she spells it "Sakizo" on all of her stuff?

It used to be written as sakizou by fans, for two reasons: 1, the u is an acceptable romanisation of the characters in her name (it uses the extended ō sound). 2, she also used to have a website than ran through a sub-domain, that was sakizou.somethingsmething (possibly because sakizo on that domain was taken).

When she changed to sakizo.jp, she started posting with sakizo as the official romanisation. But some people are just used to the u being there.
