Didn't see the old wig thread floating around so yeah.
I am currently looking for Japanese cosplay wig sites. The ones I have found are;
http://palette-wig.com/
and
http://www.assistcosplay.com/
I have recently ordered a wig from Assist cosplay (this week) does anyone know any other japanese sites that cater to cosplay wigs? What are you thoughts on ebay/taobao/aliexpress wigs vs wigs from Japanese shops (irl in Japan or online).
Are they worth the price? The wig I bought came to 90$ (shipping included).

>> No.8526246

Why can't you just use Taobao where you can get $20 wigs instead of $90 wigs

I've ordered from cyperous and airily.

Airily has the wigs to you in like less than a week, they are fast.

I think it's worth the price on multiple wigs, shipping isn't worth for one wig unless it's a rare color. I feel the quality is worth the price. All in all it's not more than 30-40 a wig or cheaper if you catch them on sale.

BTW Airily is having their summer sale at the moment. BUT we have all missed the lucky pack.

I will note I feel assist cosplay ups the price on their USA site, so I have not ordered from there yet. They constantly have amazing sales on their Japanese page. It may be worth to shopping service?

Any why japanese wig and not Taobao? I will buy the wig closest to the style/true character color. This could be a chinese company like Lucialle (very good but slow) or a more expensive japanese brand. I feel Chinese shipping is also pricey and slow depending on the time of year for all sellers. I like my stuff fast and with tracking.

assist is awesome. I have 3 long wigs, two short and 3 long pony tails from them. I turned one of the long ones into a curly fluffy monster of a wig, its great. they're nice and thick and while some colors will tangle, its very easy to brush out.
note: I bought mine while visiting Japan, and they are cheaper in-store. so I might second the shopping service. Can anyone list a good JAP ss? >>8527647

thr assist wigs are the best wigs I own. I have a bunch of ebay wigs and a bunch of taobao wigs. They're not as thick or as tangle resistant.
I have one short wig from Arda for my husband, which is fine. And I have 2 short wigs, one curly pony clip and a long wig from Epic. I like them, but they are kinda shiny.

I've always used

http://www.japonicamarket.com

They have always been trustworthy. If something is urgent you have to let them know otherwise they could buy next day for you and miss a sale. Also they only buy within their open hours.

Does anyone own or have pictures of Lucaille's Yuno wig? I like most of the wig but the bangs that frame the face throw me off.

I'm trying to decide where to buy my gyaru wig at. It's between prisila from the wigland rakuten shop or cyperous. I think shipping time will be the determining factor. Anyone know average prep/shipping time to the US from them?

>We are proud to give you an announcement about a new product line we are launching: Arda Silky! This line of wigs will come in longer styles and have a softer, silkier texture so they will be more tangle resistant and easier to comb than our current wig line.
Do not worry: Our current line of wigs is not changing! We will still offer the Arda Wigs you know and love, but these will be a great addition that many customers have asked for!
Arda Silky is coming soon! We will have these new wigs available when our new site launches, so get hype!

Thoughts?

I'm interested. If they can offer a fair variety of styles and colours it could be worth the investment. I've always been happy with the quality of my Arda wigs, other than how much the longer ones tangle. Their international shipping has stopped me from buying their wigs recently though, $20+ for one wig is ridiculous.

>>8529526
they're trying to fix the mistakes with their current long wigs, i like it. they'll probably discontinue wigs slowly in the future in order to transfer to silky though, as long as silky gets a lot of sales. I honestly never found any problem with their long wigs as long as they weren't curly. Hopefully silky comes out with some curly ones early game.

Oh man, I'm excited. I love Arda but I've been afraid to purchase longer wigs from them for that reason, even though I love the thickness of their wigs. I hope they'll rerelease Venus with the new fibers.

Interested in the Arda silky, I only liked their short styles because of the fiber.

Maybe I just don't know where to look, or what to use as a search, because 'hime wig' and 'hime bump wig' yeilded little result. But I'm looking for something similar to Arda's Victoria (pic) in a golden or pale blonde color. Preferably for cheaper. It may be a stretch, and I might just order the Arda Wig. But if I can find one a little cheaper, that'd be grand. Any points in the right direction, or a search term suggestion would be appreciated!

Any recommendations for a good Stocking wig? The one I have is way too long on me and is rather thin. I'd rather have it reach about butt length on me and have it be thicker. I'm thinking of honestly just taking two 100cm wigs and splicing them together at this point...

I'd just get the Rufio in all silver and hand dye the center

I like the stocking wig from thefivewits. It's pretty thick but it might be longer than what you are looking for. Pic is of me wearing it, I'm 5'0" so hopefully that will give you a good idea of how long it is.

>> No.8532684

>>8532659
That length seems fine to me! I'm 5'2" with a long torso, so I think that will fall at a manageable length on me. The one I have now goes down to my midcalf which is a disaster.

You look super cute, by the way!

Thanks! I'm glad I can help out. Another nice thing about this wig is that it's heat resistant. Yikes a mid-calf wig sounds like a nightmare so I can understand why you want to switch wigs.

I have one long lace front from them, which is tightly curled. I really love it and it is super smooth. After straightening a few wefts I removed for styling they're just... Amazing. So soft and easy to style. The lace is tight and nice too, my only concern is that it fits a bit oddly around my ears/temples, but you could probably do some custom lace ventilation to make it work.

I can't figure out how I want to do this. Originally I was think of buying a green wig and adding in wefts for the blue tips, but should I just try and dye a white wig myself? I've never dyed a wig before, so I'm feeling a bit iffy.

What's the consensus on getting shorter-long wigs for practicality sake? I'm starting a kite cosplay (pic related) but his hair is really long and I'm worried about wig tangling. I've heard that epiccosplay's wigs are pretty tangle resistant, but also shiny, so I'm hesitant to buy from them. Regardless, would a 40" wig with less tangle be preferable over a 50" wig despite inaccuracy?

I'm a huge advocate for this. I really don't think wigs longer than like 100-110 cm ever really look good. They're thin, tangle easily, and are just a pain to style. This is especially true when the style is more voluminous or textured. Here's an example of what I mean courtesy of going on ACP for like three seconds and using MSpaint. Despite the longer wig being a more canon length, I think the shorter one looks better. Also: Epic's wigs aren't that bad if you soak them in fabric softener and then dust them a little with baby powder.

>>8537446
Cute character! I think Arda's lightning pink would work well for her.

>>8538172
Wigisfashion has some lacefronts that seem like they'd fit the bill
