I've started getting materials to make the white day version of Nozomi. Super excited since I haven't made a New costume since AX last year and I'm cosplaying with a friend doing Umi. She's picking up her fabric later since she's faster then me.

I'd like to do the Las Vegas version. Been talking about going to Otakon Vegas. Use it as an excuse for a Vegas trip.

I like her unidolized version as well! I almost felt bad idolizing my cards when the event happened.. I just really like the clear cape and pants, the material would probably be hell to work with and hell to wear during hot weather but I think the frog theme is super cute! Its a nice stray-away from the constant cat stuff she gets haha.

And I agree with the black suspenders and size of the leaf, if I cosplay it I'll probably just go with a dark green and make my prop bigger!

Learning the dance for Kaguya no Shiro de Odoritai with a group of people here. We're actually getting this Asian mega-resort here. So when that opens up (in construction at the moment), we're going to do a dance cover there. Just generally really excited about that.

I picked up the sheer fabric for it and decided to go with a purple hue one, My Umi is going with a blue hue for hers.

I'm still trying to peg what type of flowers are on the head pieces. The closest I'm finding are roses. I think it'd make sense with Valentine's/white day. But I'm not sure how roses fit in with it the way it does in the US.

I think it's a pity, too. A lot of the fans are younger girls who don't have the experience or skills to make the costumes that have tons of little details, more often than not (especially all those mobile game outfits), and Chinese factories are pumping out cheapo costumes by the boatload.

Also any Non-tan cosplayers have suggestions on making her scrunchies usable and also as ruffly as they are? I've tried to make them about 3-4 times now and no matter how much fabric I use, they never get that nice ruffle hers have. They just look...like....tube-ish no matter how much fabric I use. I feel like the more people you have in a group, the harder it is to all make your costumes. If every character wears something different that's fine, but if you're cosplaying Snow Halation with eight other girls you have to match a shitload of fabric, deal with differing skill levels, patterning, etc... I love sewing but I'd rather buy for a full group and sew costumes for, say, a small BiBi group.

At least it's possible to buy boots and modify them. I actually muddy found the prefect brown boots (they're kind of like matte brown go go boots?) At the thrift store for like $20. I'm going to cut the toe out and add the details. Shouldn't be too bad.

Going to be cosplaying this, still not sure what LED strands to use. Most of the ones that come in 3 feet are the LEDs with weak light (used them on props before). I'll keep experimenting. Using holographic dance fabric for the dress, and clear vinyl for the back. I'm pretty excited about this, though it's definitely a night cosplay given how weak the LEDs are.

I'm planning on cosplaying Nico's wedding dress made, currently waiting on a sample swatch of the custom lining I made for the underneath of the skirt. I'm worried about how to make that tiara, but I'm wearing it for ACen and have lots of time to experiment. Props are my weakness so I'll need some practise before I make the final.

Yeah, I've gotten used to series-specific threads being filled with questions like "how would you pleat this", "would [fabric] look good in this" or "how do you exactly make prop like this". In Love Live threads, it's all about sharing Taobao links to the best costumes in all sizes. I get it, this way all nine costumes have the same level of quality and you can quench your thirst for LL-cosplay faster, but... it still feels so wrong! You're missing out on the most satisfying and fun part of this hobby!
