Yes, there have been a few complaints before of anon waiting up until a month or two before they were addressed about their unshipped packages. Chokelate doesn't typically reply.

Open the PP claim, stat. That way at least if nothing happens PP will side with you to get your money back.

It's not the norm, but it does and has happened. Right now it's wigs, but I remember last year anons had problems with her being extremely late with their tights shipping out very late, like 3+ weeks waiting.

People only recommend it because Choke is a known figure and the wig choices aren't atrocious. Though the prices after shipping are ridiculous if you're not from the EU, imo.

I'm not wrapped up in Chokelate's drama, and I honestly love Lockshop wigs. They are on the pricey side, but personally I think they're worth what they cost (Unlike GLW, you can get wigs on Ebay that are better quality for less). The fibers are nice, but not so perfect that they look super fake, probably the most natural looking wigs I own.

I have had good shipping experiences for my past orders, and I actually just made an order for two more wigs last night, so I'll keep an eye on it. I hope >>8479907 's shipping issue gets sorted out.

So I went to a tiny con tea party this last weekend. There were about thirty attendees, and about half in lolita and many others in some sort of costume.

And yes, some companies do close preorders early if they exceed the quota for it. Did you read the fine print on the pre-order? It will state if they had the option to close it early. Did you actually ask her what happened regarding it? She may have limits on how many things she can pre-order. She's always been very open to me when I've asked questions so don't be hesitant to politely request this information directly from her so you'll know for sure what's actually going on.

I always ship things in the US with priority mail (which has tracking) but I always at least mention in the actual message along with the number it should be there on X or there in 2-3 days, etc. If it's been a week I don't think it's a bad idea to just send a message saying like, "Hey, sorry to bother you! I was just wondering if you had an idea of how long it was going to take for the package to ship to me?" and then maybe if you want to add an excuse in you could just say something like "Due to my housing situation I just want to have an idea of when it will come so I can keep an eye out for the package/my mailman." idk. I don't care one way or the other personally as long as the merchandise is good. I do love to look at and shop at a pretty and professional website but with the new Etsy rules, even F+F has an Etsy site. I think if there was a lovely website, and I was a regular customer, I'd enjoy browsing that more. But at first, I think it's more about getting the name out so the business can do well. If there's a site, it needs to stay very current, send updates, etc.
Bad Example: Vivcore/Candy Violet has a pretty site but barely anything is in stock when you click around. I'm not sure why it's that way but it makes the site feel very neglected.

the color matching thing will drive us all crazy. at this point I think more and more people are understanding that you can't always match colors 100% exactly...just find something that is as closely matching as possible or within the same color family.

if someone were to post a picture of your coord you will get 10x less hate/bitching if you wear the oxfords over the jellies.

alternatively...if you want to wear the jellies then fine, but don't post photos of it if you don't want to hear it, people are ruthless. (and if you do want to post a photo online, you could just put the oxfords on for that one photo?)

I both dislike and admire them for it. I have to give them props, they put their own twist on things and manage to make most of it look good. Too bad most of it doesn't work for me.

For eg, peignoirs always looked weird, especially when the tails hang below the skirt hem. But AP made the Mercator OP with an overskirt that mimics that look and it doesn't actually look bad. For the pastel gothy inverted star backing, I never thought pentagram harnesses could look good, but the AP's idea of using it on the back of a jsk actually looks good (I just hate the dress anyway because it's so confused. Crosses, winged cats and pentagrams?).

Gotta give them props, they aren't lazily slapping trends on their dresses, they actually take the idea and adapt it to suit their style.

Now, if they can just see their way towards releasing a good eyeball dress. All of the indie tumblr versions suck.

I've had this happen, and the cause of mine is that my torso is too long. The bust dart on the dress is placed one inch above the widest part of my bust, so effectively my boobs were being shoved into the underbust of the dress instead of the actual bust. If I were an inch shorter, or had a shorter torso, the dress would have fit.

On some jsks I found the differences to be fixable with a good bra that lifts the boobs. For a JetJ jsk and a couple of AP OPs, I could only sell them on.

Like bodyline, you'll find a mix of quality, and so it's best to check reviews (you can easily search these on Google). I've always been told to be aware of custom sizing because they've had a history of making things way too big. Idk if they have a taobao shop,but it wouldn't surprise me because they're a Chinese company, but they have an official website. You're right about taobao being expensive shipping wise. Idk where you're located, but you might be surprised to find a comm (you can find the list on egl on live journal). Either way, it's cheaper to either buy from clobbao or a shopping service like taobaonow.

It really annoys me that the thread about lolita well being/exercise got deleted. Every time a thread like that gets up, it gets deleted because people think it belongs on /fit/. It does not. /Fit/ is about bulking, eating protein, looking like an athlete with six pack and bulky arms. No ordinary lolita would wish to look like that, we want to be small and slim. Not skeleton like, but not bulky either. It would be very helpful to discuss with other lolitas (or cosplayers for that matter) what they do to stay SLIM. /Fit/ is against being skinny, so it doesn't help us girls who just want to fit into our burando.

I really wanted to just exercise and stay slim. I have excellent bulking genetics, which leaves me with an issue in my legs because I walk for exercise which leaves my calves too big for socks! It's because her bangs are short on her forehead, but if you look they're still kind of long...it's like they start too far back on her head so lengthwise there's just too much hair there. As for the others here who are interested in BJDs. They're awesome. But they're fucking expensive. I think there are a lot of similarities between the BJD hobby and the lolita scene. If you buy a cheap, $150 BJD, you're going to be ridiculed. If you want the good stuff, you've got to dish out the dough.

For a lolita, I'd think owning just one doll would be ideal. It would save money, time, and effort, and still be fun to take around. (It's also way easier to take care of only one doll, as opposed to a collection).
