I was just getting on to start a decora thread myself and see there's actually one, damn!

I'm working on a coord for AWA right now. I have a question, though. Those suuuuper tiny barrettes, and the clips where you can't see the clasps on the back of them (so it's just the design/item showing)... Where the hell are they from? I see a ton of Japanese decora wearing them, but I haven't been able to find them online, and I haven't seen them on the webshops of any stores or anything. Maybe it's an in-store only thing and I'm destined to use clunky barrettes forever...

Pic related, I'm especially interested in the ones like the 123, heart, and star clips.

Thank you so much! These are exactly what I was looking for. As for the links, I think those are mostly Goodie's clips, right? I've seen a lot of those at Walmart and stuff still, and got some of them that are the plastic ribbons. Sadly, they're the kind that have to bend the plastic when you wear a new one so I think they'll probably break easily (at least the ones I have are like that. I haven't worn them much though since they're really brightly colored).

I also think that the lack of the clips like that pic is why a lot of western decora coords seem really unbalanced when it comes to barrettes and clips - most Japanese decora seem to have some clips like this to help balance out the weight so it's not too many heavy barrettes.

The most important thing is to make sure you put a lot of thought into the coordination - because there's not really rules on what makes something decora (because you can wear lots of different styles of clothing, colors, etc...) it's easy to get lost in all of the accessories. That's what I think most people struggle with.

Little decora-related haul from yesterday ft my hair snap bowl lmao

Most of the clips in the bucket are new, maybe 10-15 I've had for a while. The flea market had a bunch of people selling generic hairclips in a lot of different styles, and I got a few that were different shapes (bears!) which was exciting. Also, HK watch and cute heart pin. My favorite find was the set of clearish bow-shapes pins, because they have the back like the ones I see in a lot of street snaps, where you can't actually see the back of them while you're wearing them.

And I do agree on more varied hair clips, most of mine were pastel and not sparkly so I wasn't sure what else to put and I think I need more to fill in gaps and make it less heavy looking but haven't really been able to find small clips. I'm gonna be blunt. This is terrible. It looks like a middle schooler's attempt at decora after seeing fruits magazine scans. You need to do minimal, simple, or generic "kawaii" makeup for decora because it's such an OTT style. This looks clownish. Also most jfashions don't use heavy lipstick. That absolutely has to go.
