I had to get a screenshot from my phone so it might be a shitty picture, but he girl on the right is Hanana from Pripara. They have some great loli coords but a lot of the main outfits are too short for lolita. Hanana's is basically the generic strawberry print.

Besides the cat ears and tail, I actually think this is a really nice outfit. I would cosplay her but I feel this weird discomfort since I am a lolita as well. lolita? cosplay? cosplay of a lolita. but lolita is not a costume. it just goes around and around so i just dont bother.

Detective Conan had a Goth-loli murder mystery. The most surprising part to me was that they actually spent a good amount of time talking about how cute and normal lolita is. For such a normie anime I was surprised they didn't ridicule it.

I wish there was an anime of Mitsukazu's works, I'd be so down for that. It's a breath of fresh air from the abundance of kawaii uggu stuff and I love the fact her characters actually look like grown-ass women. She also handles issues of sexuality etc in a mature fashion without any of the cutesy or moe moe type tropes thrown in.

Maybe I'm impossibly out of touch but I feel like manga of this nature (that still features interesting and elaborate outfits etc) is becoming increasingly rare.

Aurora Fantasy has some lolita-like outfits. Even though if it's an idol anime - and they have really questionable fashion choices - a lot of the card designs are really, really nice. They're not real lolitas, but a lot of the girls are very, very brand loyal.

I know everything doesn’t have to adhere to modern principles of feminism, but the anime is pretty tough going even for more moderate non-tumblry types.

I know it's all fun and silliness and the gosu rori chant still makes me chuckle, but an entire premise based on 1950s ideals of gender roles and femininity is a bit much to take. Crucially though, it takes a long time to run through the ugly duckling-to-sawn mill and isn't all that funny or entertaining in the process.

The sisters Sakura and Sakuya Kurobane in the Love Live School Idol Festival game are definitely Lolita influenced but a lot of their outfits are off in some ways but closer than I've seen other anime lolitas. Also this fucking face she's totally a lolita.

Not anime but it's a manga. Dinah from bizenghast. Mostly gothic, some loli to this day but most are now considered ita or nitpick at best.
