Aw man, the whiskey tasting was amazing. It was really hard to stay serious by the end though, because whiskey tasting involves actually drinking it, unlike wine tasting. Best laugh with strangers I'd had in a while, and it was genuinely good whiskey. I'm definitely going to get in again this year.

Yeah it was really well set up, there were about 6-7 round tables with about seven seats at each in the same room the maid cafe was held. There was a lad and I think he was from either the Irish Whiskey Museum or something similar and he went through each whiskey in depth and the history of whiskey making in Japan, really fascinating stuff.
And yeah, I did and it went really well, so I'm hoping to do a follow-up one this year, fingers crossed!

One thing people don't get is that after years of being shat upon I'm actually ridiculously self critical, I just don't always show it openly. It'll always take the most negative form possible even when these stories contradict. Any mistake you made is documented and is used as proof of hundred other imagined or exagerrated fuck ups. Meanwhile the people pushing this fail to apply any of these ridiculous standards to themselves, declaring you a terrible human being while gladly telling several vulnerable people to kill themselves.

But of course, they're not really vulnerable, because of all this shit you made up about them that proves they exist solely for "attention" even when half the time they just want to be left alone.

Its actually sort of fascinating from a sociological perspective, though in the same way the cognitive dissonance of militant homophobes is fascinating.
