If you want an easy in, start with Persona 3. Persona 4 is okay, but in my opinion had a pretty different feel from 1-3 in that it was much "lighter"/less grim-dark.
I like Persona but personally prefer the other SMT games.
In my dreams, Will Arnett cosplays Hikawa.

Follow /v/'s SMT/Persona chart. I'm sure someone else has it saved, but basically you should try P3P/P3Fes (if you like JRPG grinding) or P4/P4G (more polished & relaxed system compared to P3 series) first, then the other games and branch off into the earlier Persona or Persona 2 games, the various SMT games, Devil Survivor games, and other spin-offs.

Actually it was suppose to be Winter 2014/2015 but they changed it due to the game coming out on the PS4 to TBA. It's assumed to be 2015 of this year. It doesn't mean it's official though. Atlus could just push it back. Again.

I don't get why people hate Ken and Yukari.

Ken did not kill Shinji. Revolver Jesus did that but nobody blames him, get mad at him, or even tell him to go die. But everyone wants to hate on a ten year old kid. Hm.

People seem to forget or not understand that said ten year old kid doesn't have a family, his father and mother were both killed due to shadows, he had no friends at his school, and when he came into the dorm he was hell bent on bitter feelings and revenge. It's sad that P3P touched on this point that Persona 3 failed to even bring up with Ken. Ken had NO friends at all his age so he wasn't really a kid. He was more of an adult in a kid's body and had to grow up fast. Also the others had family or friends or someone as an anchor. Akihiko had Shinji. Mitsuru had Akihiko, Shinji, and her father for a while along with several close servants. Fuuka had that one girl. The dog had the monk until he died. Shinji had Aki. Who did Ken have? Nobody. At ten years old he had NOBODY.

Even in P4U he still blamed himself for Shinji's death as a thirteen year old kid. He still tried to put everyone and everything on himself. It wasn't until the end of the game that he finally started to let go and just be a kid, that he wasn't alone, and that he had friends to go back on. That did not happen in P3.

Yukari wanted to bring someone she loved back to life. Nobody can tell me they never thought about doing that and the fuck with the consequences. It made her human to think, feel, and do that. But nobody thinks about it like that. They just think "This basic bitch wants to end the world for some." She got over Minato/Makoto/Door-kun. She's now an actress and doesn't dwell on it as much. She let go.

The point is P4U improved on those two the most compared to the clusterfuck of the whole P4 cast minus Adachi.

Yeah, most people I have talked to that played it say SJ is probably their favourite Megaten game, but I think it did not get the same popularity as most of the others because it is a hell of a lot darker than P3/4, plus the gameplay is different. (It's more of a dungeon crawler.)

I'd still recommend every SMT fan to play it if you can find it; it's really fucking good, and the music is also ace.

I intend to one day but I would have to figure out how to make the helmet and I still have baby-tier sewing skills here. I'm pretty sure the costume itself wouldn't be difficult but the helmet sure as fuck would be. I usually buy two copies of most SMT/Persona games but I missed Raidou and SJ during their release dates. Had to call several Gamestops and beg them to ship a copy of the first game to my state. Found a brand new copy with the doll of the second game for $20 in GS lucky enough. I played the first game but I can't bring myself to open the second just because it's an LE.
