Do any of you seagulls have favorite jfash youtubers? What are some types of fashion related videos you want to see more of? (Or on the flip side, ones you're tired of seeing being done to the moon and back).

pixielocks: annoying af voice and way too full of herself for me to stand. she needs to kick it down a peg or two.

OOTD vids, especially ones with detail closeup shots. i know OOTD vids are common, but i don't see a lot of lolitas doing them. i like to see coords in motion more than photos.
i'm also a big fan of unboxing vids. glad that deerstalkers is delivering on that front at least. i also really like wardrobe videos more so than LJ posts.

i don't really have a lot that i can think of. i guess con videos? they're all shot the same usually and cover the same sort of stuff, and i'm not really interested in that. also just bums me out seeing them because i wish i was there instead of at home watching a video about them.

LovelyLor, Peachie, pynkbunny and emiiichan are my main four. Deerstalker obviously, and I like checking out Kawaii Pateen and Tokyofashion every once in a while for their harajuku walk videos. Cathycat is a bit of a weeb, but she's so energetic that it makes up for the cringe.

No hate here. Toritime was recommended in another thread, but I don't think her videos are all that great? Okay to pass the time, but not something I would follow. Same goes for Batty. Following the first poster, I pretty much never click on pixielock videos.

Unboxing videos are basically what I love. I'd love to see year round hauls instead of just lucky pack updates (which seems to be the main source of videos for some youtubers). I'd really like to see a well done taobao haul video, with clear pronunciation and nice detail shots. Smaller storenvy/etsy stores that aren't taobao resellers would also be nice.
Misako's proper lolita manners videos were also funny. I'd like to see some more humor in lolita videos, which Lor and Deerstalker deliver in.

Those "how to lolita" videos. Pretty much why I don't really follow Batty. Also not a big fan of people doing unboxings, but the video is five minutes long and three of them are spent talking about "my boyfriend likes this dress", "I spent soooo long looking for right socks", etc.

acchirin is really cute and has some okay videos. Also Princess Fancypants, who only has a few videos. KawaiiKaptian, who I am personally not too fond of but you might like her videos. LoliSourGrapes just released a new video after being gone for awhile. Jessiedressesup has a few videos but she mostly just talks. And FilleDePorcelaine is someone a lot of people like.

I personally find unboxing videos to be pretty boring. I really like tutorial or how-to videos, but there don't seem to be much of those beyond stuff for people new to the fashion.

Does anyone know Kota Bear (like on Facebook or anything) or know where she went? She's made no new videos recently. Also does anyone know anything about that Crystal-chan she references in videos a lot and where she went/if she's still lolita?

I kind of enjoyed her almost infuriating "going against the normal lolita opinion" style, despite her horrible lack of editing. Made for something refreshing and both a fun jimmy rustling every now and then.

Batty gets on my nerves a bit and I hate how echoey her videos are. Jillian just no sssh no stop.

I like Lor's positive messages, even if sometimes it sounds a bit scripted! I love Deerstalker just because the videos are so pretty. WonderlandLolita has a couple of cute videos and seems sweet. She seems new, but I like Princess Fancypants- her videos are interesting and look/sound pretty good and she doesn't seem fake or kawaii annoying.

Unless you're hilarious or really clever, don't do satirical videos, they're just awkward and painful most of the time. Lor's are fun because she's spirited, and that lace parody was laughably accurate and not overdone. Otherwise? Maybe not.
I like ootd but like multiple outfits in one video, wardrobe videos, just life updates or random cute shit, kind of personal talks are fun too. Makeup tutorials and transformations are overdone but still entertaining. Multiple coords from one dress sounds like a good idea, too.

Whatever you do, please get a decent microphone. One of my biggest pet peeves from YouTube videos is poor sound quality.

I watch a lot of reviews/unboxings for different hobbies, and poor sound quality is always the one thing that will have me close out a video within the first ten seconds.

I truly feel sorry for her. I really don't know how she hasn't gotten plastic surgery yet, makeup does nothing for her and makes her look like a dude in drag. Yes, I'd been bullied throughout secondary school for being ginger, having 'frog eyes' and a 'beak'. Oddly enough, those are the features my boyfriend now says to be his favourite. It never stops, they always find something else to take the piss out of. Digging up this thread to say:
I'm subscribed to pixielocks, and though some of her videos are really dumb (cough cough) I generally liked her energy and liked her hauls. She posted a video recently about her "fashion identity" or whatever, and she mentions straying away from lolita. Man, I saw it right from the start. She went from manic-panic-punk kid to brandwhore in a matter of months. She threw herself into the online community, kissed up to lolitas with large followings, reacted badly to negative attention. Most of all, it seems like she flipped her whole life and dedicated it just to lawlita lifestyle, and was probably disappointed in the lack of positive attention and material worth.
I'm pretty disappointed. I think she said she wasn't like leaving the fashion or anything, but still. She's gotten such a bad rap on /cgl/ and btb that continuing to make "lolita" content would only be fueling the fire.

I really like her wardrobe so I watch some of her videos for that but she's not a looker. Her makeup makes it worse and a lot of her clothing is unflattering.
