also bet it won't drop by much; $500-600, maybe even 700 still, seems like a good estimate. Maybe even more for pink. Typical scalper prices, both on the Japanese and Western sides of the market.

Sugary Carnival?

Yeah, you can argue that some cuts/colorways suffered but it's mostly due to their unpopularity. The popular cuts and colorways are still at retail or well-above.

Maybe for damaged secondhand in pink or brown? Mint and ivory, the most popular colorways, are damn ridiculous used. Especially for the jabot jsks.

Sugary Carnival is also not cheap unless it's damaged or very worn, and this is a print that has been replicated for years.

Original Milky Planet has gone down, but for the same reason as Sugary Carnival as the older releases are becoming more and more used, and the subsequent releases were not as popular with buyers due to the redesign.

Nope. Resale value is going to tank in a few months. Trust me, I've observed every AP rerelease since 2011, whether I like the print or not. Every single time, the discussion of how it will effect resale comes up and many predict it will go down just a tiny bit if at all, and without exception, they're always wrong. What always happens like clockwork is that resale will stay the same for the first month or so, but by six months, it will be only slightly more than retail at most. Anyone wanting to cash in on Misty Sky should do it ASAP, while the girls who missed getting it retail are desperate, because I can pretty much guarantee that the going rate for the most sought after versions will be about $400 by the end of the year.

>> No.8378013

>>8377953
I should also point out that the only exception the resale going to retail were the first Sugary Carnival and Misty Sky rereleases. They only went down by about $150-$200. However, the third release raped SC and the same will most likely happen here.

Did I make the right decision in getting one? I really liked pretty much everything that IW has put out over the last year and I'm prepared to repair any defects I end up with. Apparently they're only ever minor any way.

>> No.8378160

I can't believe I've been a fully-functioning lolita for two years now without realising this, but anyway.

How do you make short-sleeved blouses and OPs look right, when you're not wearing sweet? In sweet you can wear wristcuffs or stack bracelets but I can't find a happy medium in more toned-down styles. Not wearing anything on my hands or wrists looks bad, but a single bracelet just looks lonely. I always end up just wearing a bolero, then I get frustrated because I feel like my OP outfits all look the same because I'm wearing the same dang bolero with them.

>> No.8378234

If it's not a really long one, it actually fits within EMS's ordinary shipping allowed things. If you look up the restrictions it's something like width+depth+length must be no larger than X amount, poster tubes must be no longer than X size, and my parcel was shipped like that.

No, one can definitely find them for retail/a little above in good condition if they're even a little patient. I posted a WTB for the lavender DDC not long ago and most of the offers were $350-$420, only two out of six people tried to charge me more than that. Like with many people's dream dresses, there's sometimes people willing to pay more than they have to, but there's enough people who sell it for much cheaper where you don't have to expect to pay that much. For example, Vampire Requiem these days can easily be found for less than $350, sometimes less than $300. Every now and then, though, you'll see someone successfully sell the same exact cut for $500. Now let's take Holy Lantern. You can expect to pay $500 minimum for that shit. If someone were to buy it in good condition secondhand for less than $400, they'd have the luck of a leprechaun.

Because the ones selling for $500 are in pristine condition whereas the ones selling for less than $400 generally have signs of wear. VR is old and it's not fair to compare it to a newer print like Holy Lantern. It would be more accurate to compare VR's secondhand sale price in it's second year post-release like what you're doing with HL--which needless to say was very high at that time.

fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck is it tacky to modify an op into that cut? My thirst is real. Also fuck special presales, AP doesnt make spare stock which means a good chunk of the popular cuts and colors are gone.

Does anyone know if AP will ban for buying using different accounts on this new system? My bf is getting one for me and the accounts have different names and shipping addresses, but I am worried about the ip address and credit card info. I can borrow someones credit card if need be.

But it's much too fancy for my tastes and honestly looks a bit messy. VM is definitely better at understated details than elaborate ones. Or at least more than 2 colorways... LM just said shipping would be expensive - $55 - if I wanted it to get here by friday. email just said the same thing but also "oh I think LM must be having issues". I sent them a message saying that it looks like someone else had actually bought the item already. I didn't mention it in that message since this was an afterthought, but looking it over again I wasn't sure if she meant it would be $55 total (blouse $50, shipping $5...priority mail box USPS for blouse shipped within hte US is about 5-6 dollars) or that it would be another $55 for shipping...she has read my 'already sold' message, but didn't respond.

Here is where I'm confused....the blouse is clearly sold, why would she give me a shipping quote? Assuming she really did mean to see $55 for shipping, do you think maybe she was trying to steer me away from the sale? (like, that I would be deterred due to high shipping fees) If that was the case, which I know I'm just speculating here, why the heck couldn't she have just said sorry the blouse has sold? The blouse sold a good 8+ hours before she responded to me giving me a shipping quote, which I am still confused about (again, not sure if she meant $55 shipped or an extra $55 on top of the $50 for the blouse...which I think is a load of shit because USPS priority box is not that expensive at all, which is the mailing method I specified in my initial message to her)

I'm just really ??? right now.

You will be getting two emails, is this the first email or the second one?

The first email only lists what items you have ordered, and then, all the way at the bottom of the email (after the part in Japanese about the details of your order), it should say something like:

"The price stated on the website does not include shipping fees.
Please wait for our reply regarding shipping fees and payment method."

ie - you need to wait for the second email, which will actually tell you these things:

**********************************************
Total price: xxxxxx yen
Shipping cost: xxxx yen
Total amount: xxxxxx yen
**********************************************

And there will be a paypal address like this:

***********************************************
fumi@babyssb.co.jp
***********************************************

That's when you send the full amount (including shipping) to the paypal address. Yes, you have to send it by yourself, baby doesn't do invoices. But don't do it until you get that second email with the shipping cost and the paypal address.

Question: what's a reasonable period of time for a payment plan? I know it's different for everyone, but what time and payment chunks do most people tend to do them in?

>> No.8384336

>>8384320
I think the longest reasonable one I've seen is like, 4 weeks/a month. I personally would only ever do anything longer than that if it was a friend, and even then only certain friends in particular. Then usually however many times divided by the full payment amount is what I've done, then shipping later. Example: 3 week payment plan for $150. $50 a week, + whatever shipping cost is the final payment or as an additional payment after that.

Some people may choose to do a non-refundable deposit the first installment depending on how long the payment plan is. If you're a seller, honestly, don't do anything that's like 1 installment a month, I've never heard anything good come out of those.

>>8384320
as the other anon said, 1 month payment plans are the longest that i'd think are reasonable. if someone can't pay off an item in a month, then i'd say that's not their biggest problem

i recommend having a non-refundable deposit, and get them to pay that through bank transfer or the gift option on paypal, it reduces the number of flakey buyers you might get

i like to get payments once a week, and usually let the buyer decide the amount of each payment (other than the deposit) over the number of weeks they want to pay over, as long as it all adds up in the end

>> No.8384366

Mine has always been different, actually.

From paypal, in the comments section I put down my email address (the one I use to order with), my name, and the name of the items I ordered or I copy the filename (there's always an excel file with the second email).

Then I reply to the second email with what paypal email I used, and put down the transaction number, along with a note to let me know if they have not received it.

They normally email me back to say payment received. I haven't had any issues so far, Baby's been really nice to me.

A few days after that they will send another email with the tracking number. That's it.

CC update but I can't even get into the site. What is this? Fucking AP release hour?

Nah, not for other jsks but I was looking at the new IW Cherry jam and I had this sudden thought of "Does the beige jsk have to have a matching beige blouse? Do I use white?" Does the underskirt match the dress or the blouse?

So many questions.

>> No.8384526

>>8384510
Depends on the JSK and the overall outfit. If I'm going for a monotone look, I'll match the colours the best I can. If I want to bring another colour in, I usually follow this pattern:

>Colour A:
>JSK, shoes, hair accessory

>Colour B:
>Blouse/bolero, socks, secondary accessories

If it's a printed dress, the second (and sometimes a third) colour is one in the print, to make it stand out. So say beige dress with a print, the print has accents of sax blue. Colour A will be beige. Colour B will be the sax blue.

move the button or add a piece of elastic between de button and end of the cuff.
