Does anyone here own an alice auaa item? They are so expensive, even on secondhand markets, that I think they must be good quality or unique in some way.

Also brand-related questions in general.

often snaps of people in alice auaa also look a bit on the wealthy side. is it worth the cost? the fabric and construction seems like it could be quite delicate.

>> No.8358618

I've owned an Alice Auaa piece before and I think they're well constructed even if some of their fabric is a little delicate (e.g. gauze with raw edges), they add to the deconstructive look that AA has. Their hardware (buckles in my case) was solid brass and was very heavy.

A fair bit of their pieces are quite avante garde and while I appreciate their designs, they are not very unwearable for daily life. I'd say AA feels quite haute couture and their price point reflects that.

I think AA is also 100% made in Japan so their production costs would be higher.

I think you can expect the quality to be the same as any designer brand - which is to say, good construction/fit and nice fabric, but rather delicate and needs to be handled with care. for this price point, I'd only consider it worth buying if it's a unique design not easily replicated. for example, I love that tuxedo coat in the middle but no way in hell would I spend 33000 yen on it when I could make that myself for a fraction of the cost.

I think the second hand prices are decent. Especially if it's a unique design.

It's more high end in designs and production than your usual lolita, gothic or vkey brands. It's proper runway fashion.
It's unique because people into lolita and gothic are also interested in their designs. Like Vivienne Westwood.

Is there anyone who actually knows shit about clothing construction who can tell us if burando is actually good quality or not?

I can definitely tell the difference between Japanese Lolita brand and other high end clothing. It differs a lot by brand and even piece, which bothers me a lot because a shops clothes should always be of similar quality to their other pieces...but it's not. In general, nice brand clothing (non Lolita) uses nicer fabrics, has a better, more uniform fit and construction, and definitely uses better knits. For an example where baby might use a craft store quality chain actual brand is going to use a heavier metal that's not going to wear down and it's going to be secured better. The reason for the high price isn't always the materials when it comes to Lolita. It's the uniqueness of the design and the low production runs. I've had Lolita brand fall apart on me (especially boleros With patterns woven in, jewellery and shoes) even though I take excellent care of my stuff, where as I've never had that happen with my normal brand clothing. The quality control is just not there.

Also you have to have a yearly membership to even go INTO one of their stores. They are a very exclusive brand.

Can I wear Mary Magdalene even if I have a 32 inch underbust? Also what kind of shapewear do you recommend for making your waist a couple inches smaller?

>> No.8359358

>>8359342
Depends on your actual bust measurement, I kind of doubt it for the most part. Might be a few that fit.

I'm a 32 B (so 34 in bust). Unfortunately my upper torso is all bones, so I doubt dieting would make it any smaller. Curse this awkwardly big ribcage.

Nope. I have a sad story about this actually.

>love classic
>have MM dream dress
>win it on auction after 3 years of searching
>won't zip over my ribs
>bawl my eyes out

It sucks.

Ah, I'm a 32B as well! You should fit fine, actually. Maybe a couple will be too tight but that's my bust and I don't have any issues (I mostly wear MM and Victorian Maiden.)

What's your waist measurement?

How do you feel about the AA tags being so damn visible?

>> No.8359515

>>8359380
Around 26-27 in. I'm hoping to get it down to 24-ish, but I suppose in the meantime I'll have to invest in some good quality shapewear.

Does anyone know how often Meta's website restocks? I've never bought directly from their site before and I really want a new dress that recently sold out.

They don't. You could hire a SS to call physical shops and see if any of them still have it in store and if they will transfer it to the SS's local store.

I normally don't mind them because they go well with the distressed aesthetic. The one you posted is too big though but I think you're also supposed to cover it maybe?

Also gotta show off your money.

Has anyone followed Sheglit regularly? Do some of their designs get released over and over again? Or like, items they always have? I'm interested in a jacket from them that I feel has been in stock a long time, but I don't know if I'll get to prioritizing it anytime soon, I was wondering if they keep certain things in stock always due to how long it's been up.
