Finished painting up my duck mask for an Alex and Ash cosplay (Hotline Miami 2) that me and my friend are doing at our next con. She's painting her's today.

More of fem Gio. Added the trim to the skirt and adjusted the length. Also added a wire to the collar.

Also painted the back details. The gems were added in for a fun little detail.

Been slowly but steadily working on a Sailor Uranus cosplay for otakon! I need to adjust that one snap in the armor that's bunching, but otherwise the main fuku part (minus the brooch) is done! Next is making the gloves/accessories/boot covers.

I've never sewn this much spandex in my life so I'm glad I haven't hecked up too bad (yet)

Thanks! The hip rolls are stuffed with polyfil, and the sleeve rolls were made with the green couch foam w/ a layer of batting over top to hide the green colour. I've been using this tutorial as a base: http://sparklepipsi.com/tutorials/SparklePipsi_FukuTutorial.pdf and modifying it as needed.

The breast piece is just a 2nd layer of spandex w/ a layer of fleece. Sewed them right sides together (minus the back), turned it inside out, pressed it, and sewed the back up!

Yeah that's fair enough. The idea of doing two different colors came from this fan art (obviously I didn't use the same colors but I liked the idea and went with it). But I understand it's not to everyone's taste.

Please recommend some stuff to improve on. Only things I can I actually change. I can't really redo the whole robe but I can tweak it around if necessary. Will post another so you can see the shoes.

So worked more on sewing. Bags are harder then I thought and.. the fabric was so hard to keep together as it was thick.. broke a needle.

It constantly needs ironing so it isn't ironed in this picture. Waiting for my blonde wig to come so I can style it for the Helga Pataki costume and fix a bow for it.

Planning on doing pic related for my local con this summer, I just need to track down a pair of glasses that resembles what Hank wears. I'm searching Amazon and eBay for "square glasses" but most seem to be the thick hipster shades that are in style now. Anyone have any suggestions on a brand or where else to look?

Made Umi's skirt and bow out of the spoonflower fabric -- the skirt fabric needs a LOT more starch and ironing. I know I need to take in the sweater/shorten it a little so it's more flattering. Easy costumes are fun, though.

Jumperskirt is finally done after a month of working on it in hour increments here and there. The bodice fit isn't as good as I'd like, but at least it'd be hidden by the accompanying jacket in the end.

I took these fucking photos in the morning but then the downtime and real life happened. I also need better camera and proper full-length mirror.

I think that the mask is complete in a sense that I won't be adding anything new on it. I will be having a field day with nail polish remover and scrub all gluestains off. But who knows, I may have to redo something at one point. I noticed that one of the tubes is starting to get off. Not sure about the robes either. They don't look half-bad for being two cheap rain ponchos, one of which is literally wrapped around my waist. I'm a cheap bastard and those looked fitting. At least I still have a week left before the con for adjustments.

But my BIGGEST fear is that I'll pass out in the con. It's summer, after all, and I'll be wearing gas mask and plastic robes. It's gonna be hot as balls. Gotta bring backpack full of water bottles.

Making slow but steady progress on Homura. I'm not 100% happy with the skirt--I honestly might end up totally remaking it, but I'm not sure. I swear the pleats are different in every piece of reference material.

Happy with the undershirt, though! Now to draft the weird collar for the over shirt...

Thank you! The pleats are made from small inner panels sewn between the larger body pieces and ironed to keep the pleats sharp. Not exactly the prettiest solution, but the inner side of the jumperskirt should be largely unseen anyways.

I've had a really tough time the last few years and haven't been able to write/draw/make anything much for myself. Today I spontaneously decided to buy fabric and make progress on Arcanine having had an unfinished head sitting in my room for years. Hoping it all works out proportionally, because I'm just having to use my imagination for volume of the mane/cheek tufts at the moment.

For the anons who were asking, here's the final product! We took best group at Momocon Craftsmanship contest which I'm still in awe about.
Especially because the judges were God Save the Queen and Volpin.
We have some detailing and electronics that we want to add before Dragoncon but yay for it being done!

I'll find out soon if it's con approved, but seeing as there's nowhere for the damn thing to go except firmly on the ground, I don't see why they'd reject it. I suspect you could make something similar with PVC pipe, or maybe cardboard tubes with paper mache if you can be careful with it.

Dunno if this is really progress, but finally got in cape and a few other pieces. Gonna glue down the chest armor this week as I originally though I could just strap it down, but edges want to pull up.

This weekend I'll be making the gauntlet armor and shin armor for the costume and gluing down some other stuff.
