Negative Stacey put Ani-Mia on blast after Mia deleted her and blocked her from posting, but Negative Stacey, fake as she is, was right. Ani-Mia shouldn't be saying shit, when she's just baring her chest in revealing cosplays and then dropping her Wish List. What's different from cosplayers asking for people to donate to their cosplay/con funds? They were both in agreement about fraudulent uses of fundraising sites though, like funding a trip to the U.S. instead of working on a cosplay project for example.

That's not a girls only thing, but a single gender thing. Male only sports are just as bad, if not worse. No girl drama I've ever witnessed, outside of a couple very extreme examples in cosplay, has even come close to the shit that would regularly go down in the male soccer, football, and lacrosse teams in high schools. Oh god, this was the exact reason my mom stopped letting me do ballet. I've always been thin to the level where I get the occasional person questioning if I had an eating disorder, yet the teacher still suggested she put me on a diet because I was one of the tallest girls, so she thought I should be a lot thinner than the other girls to compensate. It was the final straw for her after years of witnessing horrible mothers treat their daughters horribly, some of which honestly constituted as abusive. She told me there was one woman in particular who she was conflicted about reporting to child services, after she saw her slap her daughter across the face in the parking lot when she thought no one was looking for messing up during one recital. She ended up telling the father, who was not surprised at all. Luckily, years later they ended up divorcing and the father got full custody since my mother was far from the only person to witness her doing shit like that.

Yeah, the bitchy attitude your describing in ballerinas is very typical as the direct result of their parents and instructors. All the stuff they were saying to you is the exact same stuff they're taught from before they're even in the double digits. The thing is, they don't see it as cuntish at all because that's the kind of thing they're told every day, they just see it as being honest. They think nothing of weight comments, and see anyone offended by being told they need to lose weight as being over-sensitive and unwilling to take criticism. Because that's how their mothers raised them. Eating disorders are extremely prominent among ballerinas, I'd even say that's probably one of the top demographics susceptible to them. The sad thing is that even if your parents don't play into that shit, it's impossible not to get sucked into it because most if not all of your classmates an usually teacher do. It's seriously straight up abusive, no other word for it.

Yeah, in other hobbies too. I was in a female choir and we had several setups for different age groups. The little girls' group (4-10) were the absolute worst of them all because they had insanely competitive mothers, and ended up being really cunty to all the older members except for one they'd pick as a favorite and try to learn from, and the teacher. And the members they liked were always some influential person's daughter or cousin, you could really see that their mothers had picked out whom they had to brown-nose.

The teenagers were a mix of chill girls (usually newer or teenage rebels) and the salty toddlers grown up into salty teenagers. The adults were relatively drama-free but less tight-knit.

Compared to some, like the woman who had her 16 year old get liposuction so she stood a better chance of getting into a company school, my mother was sane but it didn't stop 14 year old me being part of the 10 day juice fasts or complete lack of social life because dance was every night for hours.

I say a lot of eating disorders though, the toilets smelling like puke was quite a common thing. I was never concerned for anyones weight until you could see their ribs, hip bones spine and ribs on their chest when they were relaxed. The ballet world is pretty messed up, and I say that as someone with an eating disorder who still takes classes. I went to an eating disorder clinic and there were two other girls there from the same studio...

Basically you can say goodbye to your health, social life, and relationships.

But I still do it anyway...

Ashlen Phoenix and the rest of her little group aren't cosplayers, they're fucking strippers who once and a while buy shitty costumes and sell prints at cons of them half naked. They do what other cosplayers do. They either buy likes until cons believe they'll bring in people and get paid for it, pay for tables/booth at a discount in exchange for being billed and promising to bring in people (similar to #1, but money comes from them), or just buy a booth/table and then say they are guests, but not get promoted at all by the con

Hypothetically, if an ice skater wanted to wear lolita while skating and the outfit was ita, lolitas would have no problem pointing out everything she did wrong and would be much less nice about it. "I'm not even a lolita, I just decided I wanted to do this for a shoot and don't have years of practice and experience, though!" would not be considered a valid excuse in any way shape or form. Obviously skating is harder than putting together a decent coord, but that still doesn't make con crit bitchy.

Honey, if that's how you saw that post, you are WAY too sensitive. Bashing? FFS, she complimented the girl, all she said was her form was bad, and "shitting on" is the exaggeration of the century. Her exact words copypasta'd from RBT;
>As a former competitive figure skater, this makes me cringe a little. The other skating pics are cute, but this is one really sloppy spiral. Nothing against this girl, and at least she looks like she's having fun. I'm just too used to my coach screaming at me about my own spirals.
Followed by words of encouragement and a bunch of helpful tips, including really important safety ones. Yeah, this girl was sooo out of line, way bitchier than your average seagull.

I hate how liberally /cgl/ says "go back Tumblr", but honestly, it's kind of warranted here.

Have to put my two cents in on the whole ballet & Cosplay discussion.

First, looked up dancing fool Cosplay. I really don't think she has much room to criticize..saw one tutu picture and Her form is far from perfect.

I do think it's bitchy to nit pick every little pose or position flaw when someone is clearly a casual dancer or not a dancer at all, but I will absolutely flip my shit if someone is on pointe and is clearly untrained. Not only is it EXTREMELY dangerous, but honestly I kind of find it offensive. Maybe offensive isn't the right word but it rubs me the wrong way to see something I trained my life to do not treated respectfully or treated as a costume accessory. I know it's bitchy but that's how I feel. I broke my Achilles tendon and shattered the arch of my foot so sadly I couldn't pursue strictly ballet professionally. But I was in a company, and now I teavh and dance professionally.

Tl;dr: do some research, idc if your pose isn't perfect. But dear god if you aren't trained don't go en pointe

Haha yeah Im aware. I mean I had my time in the pointe spot light but as cliche as it is, teaching is much more fulfilling with the added bonus of actually being able to walk. Plus I still perform/dance professionally, just not en pointe. Which is fine. So really, I still can and still do.

"you weren't trained to stand on your foot like i was; therefore you are not allowed to"

is this how liberals think?

nanny state so hard that everything remotley harmful is disallowed

if a cosplayer wants to strike a pose, and put them selves at a SLIGHT risk to do it

it is their body and they can assess the amount of risk to stand in the manner they wish

so fucking let them do it

shit

>> No.8330963

>>8330917
Slight risk?!?
SLIGHT?

Ok. So when they snap their ankle and need surgery lmk. Or when they tear a tendon that they walk with a limp. I know technically we are at risk for dumb things like that to happen just for walking but going up en pointe increases that like tenfold. It's a strength issue. I'm not a trained gymnast so I'm not going to do a backflip for a pose I don't want to crack my skull open. Same thing. Damn.
