Welcome to the new lolita shit general.

Old thread in autosage >>8311310

This is the containment thread for all your questions, drama, and general faggotry.

Talk about your new coords, how much brand you have, how shitty other people's coords are.

elitism talks, how ita your comm is because they don't wear the most popular brand

complain and bitch about how you can't afford your dreamdress because you are a massive poorfag, or how hard you have to work to afford that Angelic Pretty bag.

Lets get this started fags.

If I want the most poof that doesn't deflate quickly should I buy the bigger Classical Puppets ones or Malco Modes or something else entirely?

what is the general consensus on classical puppets *now*? because I've heard more and more stories lately about how the quality has declined and so pettis from a few years ago are much different than the newer ones coming out.

anyways, to answer your question, bunnyhouse is the latest petti that's been getting a lot of buzz. there's 3 different levels of poof you can choose (I think M, L, XL) and they just custom make it to whatever measurements you want, including length.

>>8317208
That's weird. I don't know if it's because of the dress that girl is wearing or what. (some dresses just don't look good with a lot of poof or maybe that dress needs an a-line instead? idk, some dresses are deceiving and are a-line instead of bell even though they look like they should be bell)

this girl reviews the XL on 2 dressed, one with light material and one with heavy and it doesn't look as strange as it does there. (though I suppose on the lighter dress it does look a little lampshady)
(jfc why does 4chan think blogspot posts are spam? from the blog wisdom-grace url /2014/11/bunny-house-super-large-xl-petticoat)

and this girl reviews both medium and XL. again, may look a little lampshady but I dont think it looks as bizarre as that photo

I own a large Bunny House petticoat and it's perfect for my AP Victorian Letter JSK and my chiffon IW dress. I don't really know how it works because the Victorian Letter skirt seems so much heavier but I'm not complaining. I have a Malco Modes 582 for most of my A line skirts and a Snow Field Maximum Puff for empire waist skirts (it deflated after a few wears, which is why I got the 582). Snow Field is gone now, but I think MM has another model that would be good for softer poof and may also be cheaper. Some people complain that MM petticoats have the wrong shape because they're squaredancing ones, but literally all you have to do is flip it inside out.

cotton candy colored twin tails. just stay far away if you are unsure of yourself in sweet/not too confident with it yet. twin tails are not to be inherently avoided but the unnatural colored twin tails have fallen out of style at this point/only look good with particular coords.

what is your hair like? you could just go natural as long as it's styled cutely/as the appropriate amount of volume (not too flat and limp). otherwise I suppose it just depends. in general you might just want to find a wig in your hair color or a natural color that's voluminous. could be curly/wavy. I don't think the hairstyles are that much different from country/classic save for maybe there's less elegant type stuff or actual hairdos, instead maybe more flowy voluminous stuff?

The stupid lolita questions thread was deleted, so I'm sorry I have to bug you guys. I'm looking for a small, subtle cupcake petti, I've been looking at reviews but most people are after AP-level poof and I normally am too, but right now I need enough to give it shape without looking overstuffed. Are leg avenue's pettis good for this? I'd like to avoid TB if possible.

I'd like to do something lolita-related on my birthday, and I know a few other comm members have done it before too, but I don't want to do anything that would be seen as attention-whorey. I started lolita at a much older age. I was very nervous starting out because I lurked here. I knew about lolita drama. There is this ongoing belief that lolitas are catty and bitchy and you will get torn down for not owning brand or wearing it right. I didn't try to go around saying "woe is me, lolitas are mean." but I definitely felt like I was expecting to be judged. I started as a fat replica-chan coming from the con-scene, so I've been around lolitas, I've heard stories from friends who are into it. As an afterthought, I feel like it is blown out of proportion to a degree. For what it's worth I wear all brand and indie and take lolita seriously, coord pretty decently to well, even if I don't wear it much. I try to teach people that this stigma isn't as bad as it seems, but it definitely exists. It can be overwhelming to people with very low self-confidence, have anxiety or social anxiety, or are young. But it's definitely not exclusive to young people.

>> No.8320273

>>8320244
I just posted in the Jfash in public thread about an extremely similar topic. I'm really shy, and really sensitive. I'm also a private person. The fear of being judged and treated in a mean way isn't exclusive to young kids at all.

If I was harassed enough, especially by other lolitas, I would stop wearing Lolita in public. I was bullied as a kid and don't need to be bullied as an adult too, I can do better things with my time. If I didn't really love the clothes and want to really wear the fashion, why in the world would I even attempt wearing them in the first place when they aren't comfortable and they have a high risk of giving me unwanted attention?

The belief that the community is toxic is very true, but most people in the fashion will not harass somebody, especially to their face. But I also think that if you stay out of the community you have little or nothing to worry about in the lines of drama. I personally am not involved with the community at all (I'm actually only here because I come around once in a blue moon to lurk the room and mori threads for inspo) and that alone almost completely gets rid of my fear, so I think the people who are afraid should just not get involved with the community very much. They can still enjoy the clothes but won't have the fear of judgment.

There's no particular reason for you to spend it all in one place, right? Since Bodyline still has free shipping, your best bet is to split your order. Get your shoes from Bodyline, that takes care of the shipping fees for the bulkiest item.

Then, for blouses and socks, instead of looking at lolita-specific stores, look for "lace blouse" or "chiffon blouse" on taobao. You'll have to dig a little, but many of them work pretty well for wearing with lolita. Be wary of pinks though, many of them end up peach rather than cool pink. For legwear, try searching "socks" or "stockings" + the motif or colour you're looking for. Keep your order to only one or two shops since shipping within China eats up like 3-5 bucks for every shop you order from. Choose a shopping service that has cheaper shipping options -- airmail is usually trackable and cheaper than EMS.

You're not going to end up with girlonsunday/jahrhundert - levels of loot, but if you just want a pair of shoes, couple of blouses and socks, it's doable.

Get shoes from Bodyline then socks and blouses from Taobao (MuFish are good for socks). Shipping will cost you a fortune if you get shoes from Taobao. I'd still say you need a lot more money for haul though - I always spend £400-500 per Taobao order, that's getting mostly main pieces though.

I ordered the full version. I haven't worn it out of the house, but all my fittings prove it can handle a bit of weight, so might be perfect for the heavier skirts or layering. I wouldn't wear it with just a light chiffon skirt over it, at least not without putting an invisible slip/underskirt to soften the cage's look. I still need to try it with a bell-shaped garment, but it looked and felt wonderful over the broad A-line. To ensure a bell- shape, I wonder if a light padding could be worn to change it? Anyway, this cage petticoat is definitely for full poof. There is no gapping I can find. Does this review help?

What kind of petticoats would you recommend for A-line Innocent World "short length" pieces? I've only bought Classical Puppets for cupcake shapes before and am thinking their a-lines would be too overkill for this brand.
I'm thinking of just buying an IW brand petticoat to match, but am unsure of which one. Are all their petticoats and panniers standard IW "short" length unless they say otherwise? Or do some of them peek out a bit underneath? The one on the left looks like one of these.

Noob question, but I just bought a pair of the shoes in pic related (Vivenne Westwood x Melissa) and I want to use them for lolita. Any ideas what colours and styles would look good with them? I've seen a lot of girls look cute wearing them with sweet but I much prefer gothic and classic. I'm thinking dark wine red, gold and white would look decent but I can't coord for shit. Looking for any inspiration really.

They have a lot more of a pearlescent quality irl and less of that weird plasticky opaque white look

>> No.8324697

I say avoid classic, go gothic. The shiny quality can work okay in gothic coords, but can look too jarring in classic.

How about some homage to oldschool black and white gothic lolita, especially since it's Vivienne Westwood? Easy to coord, hard to screw up on, so long as you get a decent main piece.

Classical Puppets has been fine for me.
I have their explosive bell from a year and half/two years ago, and it's fucking amazing. Never deflates, provides perfect amount of poof for my AP dresses, etc.
I also bought their daily A-line last year (like August) because I needed a softer/everyday petticoat, which is exactly what it is. If you want a lot of poof, go for their massively poofy ones; if you want more subtle poof, go for the daily.
I haven't had any issues with quality, but CP can be a bit slow to send shit out. Also, make sure you get sent the right petticoat; a girl in the group order I organized got sent the smaller bell when she wanted the massive one. Not sure if it was an issue with our SS or CP.
