Talk about your new coords, how much brand you have, how shitty other people's coords are.

elitism talks, how ita your comm is because they don't wear the most popular brand

complain and bitch about how you can't afford your dreamdress because you are a massive poorfag, or how hard you have to work to afford that Angelic Pretty bag.

Lets get this started fags.

What do you guys think makes a good twin coordinate? Does it bother you when people are twinning but although they've got the same dress in the same colourway, they've coordinated it with different items (but not in an opposite way)? The lack of symmetry in those sort of photos bothers me but I don't know if it's something that bothers other people, or if it's just an irrational thing I have.

Yeah I don't think it's officially "twinning" if all the coordination and accessories are different, just looks like friends wanted to have fun wearing the same dress.
I think it's okay for twins to have different hair though (so long as the styles aren't clashing), since they aren't actually identical twins, they're just wearing the same outfit.

The "opposite" twins are my favorite, pic related. Looks so cool.

Oh, I love opposite twinning. If you can't do an identical coordinate it's better to make it consciously different. Like having the same colourway and cut of dress, but one person coordinating with all dark items and one coordinating with all light items, or making your items very different in substyle, so rather than looking like an attempt at identical twinning where you've failed to find the same shoes, it's one gothic coordinate and one classic coordinate with the same dress.

Not this anon but another question about Buyee. I'm doing their snipe bid + this is my first time using Buyee. When they place the snipe bid do they just bid up a few yen to do they actually place your max bid? (like, my max bid is there but obviously I want to pay the lowest price possible)

>> No.8298658

>> No.8298668

>>8298658
I think I should re-word my question. I meant to ask, when using snipe bid, does Buyee place your max bid or just keep bidding up to it?

Like, if the auction is at 100 yen and my max is 1000, when it places my snipe bid it's just going to bid up in however many increments to win right? Like it will bid 200 yen, not just outright bid 1000.

I'm just asking because I keep getting hung up on some of the wording they use

>> No.8298695

>>8298668
Hmm, my guess from how most non-private SS work is that they're going to bid it all at once, but as I've never used them myself I can't say for sure.

Although, I thought Buyee's service gives you control over bidding with your own account, rather than them doing it themselves? In which case you would be able to snipe yourself, right? Or is their snipe service different...

Pretty please help anons?
I have been under the impression for a while now that Shirley Temple Cute is more or less the children's side to Emily Temple Cute and that when they release something, they release it in both sizes?

I have the skirt pictured (not my pic though) but I have the Shirley Temple Cute version. It doesn't fit as well as I would like and I'm hoping there's an Emily Temple Cute version of it out there somewhere. In older sales posts and blog posts, I see people saying theirs is from one or the other, so I'm hoping it is. Am I on the right track or am I just delusional?

>> No.8298770

I'm not too sure, this is my first time using Buyee just because it's free to bid, and with FJ you need to put in your deposit but they hold it for up to a week if you use a card or 20 days if you use paypal which is super annoying to me, especially since the last time I bid on something, I lost, but they still had my money for the time being.

Meh, I guess it won't be too bad since my max bid isn't a whole lot higher than the current bid atm and for the item in particular I'm bidding on I think there's also a fair chance that someone will outbid me (I just don't care enough to go that high on it)

I guess I'll report back on what happens/what it did later.

Proxy bidding.
Of course a SS with tons of orders isn't going to monitor every auction and up your bid by 100 yen every time someone outbids you.
Here's how proxy bidding works, for all you apparent morons.
Auction starts at 100. Your max is 1000. Service bids your max of 100. Auction is now at 100.
Another user bids 300. Your bid is automatically increased. Auction is now at 400, you are current high bidder.
And so on. Until someone bids over your max of 1000, now they are the highest bidder.
Honestly I don't know how anyone could not possibly know and understand this system. And do you really think some poor SS staff is going to micromanage hundreds of bids every minute?

agreed, honestly I think it's a little annoying and sometimes borderline unreasonable how some people talk about matching shades exactly, especially when you consider how brands don't even make shit consistent within their own series like you mentioned. just at minimum try to make sure they're in the same family. (so, warm tones with warm, cool with cool, etc) It'd look fine if you wore a peachy pink jsk with a more coral bolero but conversely would look kinda "off" you wore it with a rosy pink bolero, because of the red vs blue undertones

Same as fandom coords. Both of them suffer from lolitas throwing all sense of style out the window as soon as the main objective becomes the joke or the fandom instead of simply looking good.

For instance the fabric you posted, if this were about looking good, you would be asking questions like how you'd coord a dress with white, brown, red and blue in the print to look good, or whether the print scale is too big, or if you looked good in those colours, or the quality of accessories you'd wear it with. Not just whether it was funny or not.

Personally I think JetJ makes great trolling dresses -- the yeast dress and the nutcracker vagina dress in particular seem far more intentional than accidental. And both of them look gorgeous, which is always the main objective of lolita.

It's just a print with a nutcracker about midway up the skirt. I guess it's a western thing to constantly be thinking about what's underneath clothing, even if the clothing is not even remotely formfitting or sexy.

When the auction finished, Buyee bid that remaining 1200 yen as well and the auction finished with only 4 bids, so there wasn't a last minute bidding war or anything. There was no-one else, just me, and it put everything up to my max bid.

I do understand the system, but wanted to share that in my experience with Buyee it didn't work like it should; it did bid for me in 100 yen increments right up until the last moment. And it makes sense, since Buyee charges a service fee based on the finishing price so of course they want it to be higher.

I can understand starting an auction at retail, though. Like if nobody wants to pay me back for what I'd spent on the dress, I would rather just keep the dress even if I don't dig it 100%, rather than take a loss just so some girl out there can brag about how she snagged a bargain bnwt dress from some rich girl who bought a dress and it didn't suit her.

But people with the intention of scalping manage to get their grabby hands on it, seems so unfair.
I don't like scalping. But I also think people can ask whatever they want for their items.
It's up to you if you're going to pay extortionate prices for it.
Unless it's my ultimate dream dress, I won't. It's just a piece of clothing, I can live without it. I am not entitled to it.

How is it a shitty practice? If I buy a dress and decide to sell it in the same condition, I always try to get back what I paid for it. There is no incentive for a buyer to start low and risk losing that money.
I'm personally a fan of auctions and use them almost exclusively because they allow everyone a chance at the item, if that makes sense.
After missing several dream dresses on LM that were "buy it now" due to my shit school/work schedule, I am now a huge fan of auctions.

I agree, I don't consider that scalping.
Buying something, then immediately sell it with the tag still on, unworn just to you can sell it for double the retail price (and we aren't talking a measly few bucks) THAT is scalping.
Also, i don't think many people take in account that some of us live in countries where you have to pay import taxes. We already make huge losses when we sell it, even if it's retail price.

Some people also have a huge sense of entitlement, and they easily call people scalpers because the seller sells their piece at market value instead of retail price.
It's simple, it's supply and demand.
Why would you sell at retail price if it's rare or super popular and you can earn a little more.
Why sell yourself short? So your buyer can take advantage and sell it at the market value price? Yeah I don't think so.

I've just received in the mail, bought off of MBok, a dress that was listed as Atelier Boz, but turned out to be Atelier Pierrot. It's made me even more curious as to what the piece is called, and what year it's from. It's not a piece I've seen before, but it's gorgeous, with lacing up most of the sleeves, and down the front, with a simple, zipped back. Anyone recognize it?

Dude. It's not "just a print with a nutcracker about midway up the skirt". The nutcracker is literally right over the crotch area.

And considering the name of the brand and how they often choose paintings with odd historical backgrounds or meanings, I find it hard to believe they don't put innuendos like this intentionally.

I think if two people wear the same dress, and don't make an effort to either be identical or be opposite, the pair of them instantly lend themselves to "who wore it better" comparisons, which you want to avoid. It's better to have one person look like a sax version and one like a pink version, or one a gothic version and one a classic version, than to have one look like a poor imitation of the other.

Gulls, say you're looking at a dress that's widely known to be replicated to hell and back (sugary carnival, chess chocolate, etc) but you want to buy an original.
Someone has it up for sale, but they don't have the tag pictured.
It's alright to ask for a pic of the tag with their username on a separate tag, right?
That IS the smarter thing to do.

I'm curious to see the pricing, too. Their last dress was at least on specialty textured fabric, so that's a good excuse to charge near-burando prices for it, but these look even simpler than some of their previous releases. I really don't think it's worth above $200.
