That happened my first Acen actually. Watched Michiko to Hatchin, realized could get Michiko's entire outfit just from neighborhood shopping, plus did her tattoo the morning of Friday in a mirror with a sharpie. Still got compliments. I want to re-do it someday when I can get her jacket right.

I would love to drink at ACen but my 21st was a month ago and I threw up real hard and can't get near alcohol since then without feeling nauseous... unless it's something light or a well-mixed drink. Part of my plans were to party hard but I don't know how likely that is anymore since I'm terrible at smoking weed and acid will fuck with all my medicines.

Higher alcohol tolerance I would guess. I'm such a lightweight I prefer not to drink at all because I want to stay awake. Also some con goers are just there to party with no concern for panels or events.

I met a few people who admitted to never having an interest in anime at all, they just wanted to get high/drunk with friends.

I gave my gun to someone I was walking with while I went elsewhere, and he told me the police confronted him about it, but didn't say anything to me at all. Turns out it was scaring the locals. The police seemed to not care at all when they saw me handling the thing since they most likely had been briefed on the con and what to expect.

Still had me rolling with laughter when he told me that.

But I can tell you from experience that the people at the local restaurants love it.

My friends and I have been going to a pizza place near the hotel called Village Pizza every year for going on 10 years now when we're in town. The owners there recognize us every year and are happy to see us. They say the cons that happen at the Hyatt are really good times for their business.

Some have members of the audience come up and join us, others we get the entire audience involved. And we always try to do Q&A.

But assuming you're talking about Whose ____ Is It Anyway/Improv I Choose You/etc panels, I'm not sure. I assume they do it like we do and call up audience members. I haven't given many of the comedy panels a shot, which is why I'm hoping to check 'em out this year. Our late panel time (1:15-3:45 Saturday night, baby!) means I can spend a lot of time checking out the rest of the con.

I kid, I kid. The full-audience-participation games (What's That Sound and Porn or Not Porn) are just crowd games--nobody's getting called on, everyone's encouraged to shout their answers, some people arbitrarily get stickers or tchotchkes given to/thrown at them (among other things, this year we have a whole bunch of Cards Against Humanity condoms for some reason).

Trap or No Trap and Real or 34 are really the only fiercely competitive, ring-the-bell-first games we've got. In both cases 3 people come up from the audience, buzz in when prompted, and guess the answer.

Everyone who plays Hentaidol or "Caught" Storyteller gets a prize. Anyone willing to stand in front of a roomful of people and porn-voice-act or tell stories about how their mom caught them watching Overfiend deserves SOMETHING.

Like I said earlier, Tenga's not returning my emails, so it's unlikely our MMMMYSTERY BAGS will be reappearing, but I wanna make playing these games worth peoples' time.

Actually, on that note, important decision ya'll can help me make re: potential crowd game prizes. ARMY MEN or DINOSAURS?

I'm still weighing whether I'm going to Acen. Here's the facts

A friend of mine got a room at the hyatt super early. Was gonna be great, no walking and with cool people and such. A bunch of people started dropping out so the per person cost got a bit much. Now they're cancelling the room.

And a bunch of people I usually go with are not going this year. I'm not shy but I don't go out of my way to meet new people much so now I'm wondering if I should try just going alone this year.

I cosplay Hei from Darker Than Black and Ginko from Mushi-shi. And then a fox get-up (not a fur-suit) for comfort/lazydays.

I also play SSBMelee competitively so I could always burn hours bopping scrubs in the game room.

You can sleep, but only if your group wants to sleep. There are many people up at all times of night. Hopefully you can play Mafia/Werewolf with us if a group manages to form. Outside by that side exit is where night crowd sometimes forms into a big crowd.

Thankfully I have yet to see all elevators break down.

I never had sleeping issues, besides one time with the people I was rooming with.

Most likely. I roomed with my high school ex who was barely reaching "tolerable" level but he was willing to pay in full.

These shoes are gonna ruin my feet but I'll just have to avoid stairs and sit down every 20 minutes or so lest I start crying. It's always the easier cosplays that give the most trouble. Thankfully everything else I need is in the immediate area. Eyebrow pencil, suspenders, ect.
