When you crossplay, do you get odd looks walking into your appropriate restrooms? Do you just say "screw it" and walk into the gender restroom you're crossplaying as? Do you wait for the family restroom to become free?

I'll be crossplaying at Anime Expo and SDCC and I'd like to get an inside perspective at what I might be facing.

>> No.8266053

I use family restrooms, or go to Starbucks because they always have unisex bathrooms.

>> No.8266054

If people can't tell if you're a man or a woman, well congrats. but most of the time it's very obvious, so don't kid yourself.

I just go into the bathroom of my actual sex.

>> No.8266071

It does not matter what the fuck you're wearing. You use the washroom appropriate to your sex. This is as fucking stupid as teen girls that think they are trans because they wore a man's shirt one fucking time.

freeman you will never pass as a woman dont even try walking into the womens bathroom

Was never planning to go into the women's bathroom, just thought I'd start a thread because I'm curious, that's all.

how do girls in Lolita fashion use a restroom?

it would be disgusting for their dresses to touch the public restroom toilet.

Basically this. Rarely do I see cosplayers who actually pass as the gender they're going for. If you walk into a men's room and you're a teenage girl crossplaying as a guy, people will know. Same thing if you're a man cosplaying a woman.

you know what's even more gross? public transit.

>> No.8266199

I just go into the restroom of my sex. It's a convention, so I doubt anyone's gonna care. Though I did go into a dude's restroom once because the girl's bathroom had a line. I was wearing a mask, so no one noticed. Still, I doubt anyone would care.

Girl walking into the men's room is going to get a lot less complaints (none) than a guy walking into the women's room

>> No.8270078

>not a crossplayer, but pre-everything ftm
>goes to male bathrooms most of the time because the female's line is always long and out the door waits unless i'm on period because i don't really wanna open up a tampon in the men's room
>family/unisex restrooms aren't there at any of the cons i go to otherwise i'd head to those

>i'm new as fuck and have to greentext everything to fit in

>> No.8270123

This always struck me as odd, because in the male bathrooms, there are urinals, while in the female bathrooms, there are only stalls. Like, you can't really see anything in the girls' bathrooms, it's just wet counters and tampon machines.

>> No.8270141

>>8270058
Well, there's usually much more of a line for the girls' bathroom, so it would be pretty weird for a guy to walk in there on purpose. But having said that, I've seen guys walk into the girls' bathroom on occasion and nothing much has been made of it. It's really not like TV where everyone suddenly starts shrieking like banshees.

>> No.8270228

>>8270141
Also with some very rare exceptions most cosplayers or girls that go to conventions are going to be more open and accepting without being SJW levels. I have a hard time saying the same thing about most nerd guys but there's a lot of loud obnoxious autists that cloud my view.

>> No.8270603

>>8270123
Men only need walls around their urinals because women get PTSD from seeing penises.

>> No.8270780

Being trans and pre T, I pick the men's whenever I get away with it, such as at cons because the line is shorter and people don't look twice. If it's at a club or I'm out late I'll probably go for the ladies' room, though. The environment is just a lot more friendlier and between getting yelled at and being punched, I'll go with the former.

Just hike it all up, nbd. I've honestly never had a problem with it, even when layering multiple pettis for maximum poof. The only thing I've ever been concerned about is dangling straps or ribbons, and I just pull those to the front.

>> No.8277059

>>8270780
Would dudes actually punch a woman (or person who they believe to be a woman) who wandered into their bathroom? I could see them being uncomfortable and confused, but actual violence seems like something they'd only do to other men, like if they suspect someone being a gay peeping tom or something.
